I don't know why, but I've owned dozens of pizza wheels in my life. I guess that's just the nature of the human condition. I like this Oxo the best. No contest. It feels the most solid, and seems the sharpest.

Works great for pizza, works great to cut fresh herbs fast, sometimes I even use it to slice grilled chicken breasts into chunks for pasta dishs at the same time I'm doing the herbs. I use it to cut fresh pasta dough for ravioli, and to cut bread dough into portions when I'm shaping rolls. It's a great multi-purpose tool.

For its core purpose, it excels. I make my own homemade pizza dough, bake killer pizzas on a pizza stone, and cut it up with my Oxo Steel. It's the perfect pizza experience.

I am a big fan of the OXO Good Grips line and have several of their utensils in my kitchen crock so when I was looking to purchase a new pizza cutter this one topped the list. What surprised me is that it tied dead last for third place in head to head competition against other pizza cutters that I stacked it up against. I had seen a video demonstration online that showed a good way to pre-test a pizza cutter; the demonstrator simply rolled his cutter across a piece of paper on his cutting board and it went right through, splitting the paper. I tried this with the OXO and three other brands of pizza cutters by Dexter Russell, Chef'n FreshForce, and Victorinox; the OXO and two others could NOT cut through the paper, only creased it at best.

Only one pizza cutter was able to pass the test out of the four; the winner was the Dexter-Russell Pizza Cutter Black Handle. Once the Dexter cutter passed the paper test I put it and the OXO to the actual pizza test. The Dexter Russell rolled through in a single pass, no double rolling necessary, no cheese stuck to the wheel. The OXO required you to rock/roll back and forth several times to cut all the way through the pizza and required more pressure to get the result.

I know this product received many good reviews, but I have to say I'm not thrilled with this product. The pizza wheel is easy to handle, and I love the thumb guard. The problem is, it doesn't cut very well. My pizza had a fairly soft crust an it still wouldn't cut through it without multiple tries. I'm really disappointed with this wheel. I was expecting better.

I bought this pizza wheel to replace a Kmart special that wasn't so special. This wheel is tight to the handle with no wobble. The handle has a good feel and will not slip out of hand. We have used this on both homemade pizza, bread sticks and it cuts like butter. very little force is needed to go through the crust and once through and back again and it is cut through. Another quality Oxo product.

My old pizza wheel was 20+ years old and needed to be replaced. I looked at several types at local stores, but didn't find anything I liked. I wanted to stay away from plastic handles, and obviously cheap metal wheels that dull quickly.

This OXO pizza wheel is really nice! The stainless handle and blade won't rust or break, and it's dishwasher safe. The handle is nicely shaped for comfort, and has a rubbery insert for a safer grip. The thumb protector is a nice addition - I think we've all slipped while using a kitchen tool and cut ourselves at least once.

I especially like the large 4" wheel, which makes cutting pizza or bread dough fast and easy. It's securely fixed to the handle with two legs(my old one was riveted on just one side, directly to the handle)so there's no rattle or wobble when using it, and it won't pop off. Despite the larger size of the wheel, it fits well in a drawer.

I've bought several other OXO products and have been happy with their durability and quality, and this pizza wheel is just as nice. I'm very pleased with this purchase and look forward to using it for the next few decades.

What can I say? It's a pizza wheel. It's large enough to cut well, but not so large that it won't fit in a utensil drawer. I've no complaints ont his purchase whatsoever.

After searching through the comments, there were some people who said this roller arrived and the blade was wobbly, but there really isn't enough emphasis on this.

This product arrived for me and while the handle is very solid, there is too much play in the blade itself which makes it seem flimsy. With the wiggle room from side to side, the tip of the blade touches the metal spoke and makes an unpleasant sound while rolling.

I've decided to keep it because in the end it's just a pizza cutter, but I definitely would not give this the rating it has.

We had two pizza cutters that were both over 5 years old, that this replaced. We typically eat at least 1 pizza a week in our household, so it gets a fair amount of use. The one cutter we had was about an inch smaller diameter wheel and required a lot more effort to cut through pizza (this is about 4"). The other had some special coating on it that had worn off over the years and parts around the center bolt had begin to show rust (yuck!). They had both had obviously become dull over the years slowly, and I guess you just become accustom to having to make 4+ rolls over a line to get a complete through cut. Immediately was blown away when I started using this, as it was cut through in a single pass! Sometimes I have to make a double pass, it depends what kind of crust and how it was cooked. Additionally, besides the need for multiple passes, it requires much less downward pressure to achieve the perfect cut. I will probably replace my pizza cutters every few years now, and will reconsider this one next time.
