Product Description
A chair for the ages. The OXO Tot Sprout Chair balances baby's comfort and grown ups' design sensibility. Sprout is an extended use Chair that grows with your child's development stages, from 6 months to 5 years. For a perfect, comfy fit during all stages, the seat adjusts in height and depth and the footrest is height adjustable. A depth adjustable tray accommodates baby's growth and can be removed so the Chair can be pulled up to the table. The seat, back and cushions are contoured for comfort and promote "sitting up straight", and a 5 point harness secures baby firmly in the seat. Eating can be messy, so the Chair and cushion are easily wipeable for quick cleanup of crumbs and sticky messes. For children over age 3, the crotch post, tray and harness can be removed to convert to a youth chair so kids can sit comfortably at the family table. For grown ups' added convenience, Sprout requires no tools to adjust the seat, tray or footrest. Sleek wood construction and a space saving design complement any home decor.

Accommodates Growing ToddlersBy changing and growing with your child, the OXO Tot Sprout Chair offers an ideal, comfy fit during all stages of your child's development. The high-chair setting, featuring three seat height-and-depth settings, a gentle crotch post, adjustable food tray, and five-point harness, is great for children 6 to 36 months old. Parents can easily adjust the tray with just one hand so children can easily reach their food, regardless of how fast they grow. And the footrest includes four different settings to ensure your child's legs are comfortable while they sit. The seat, back and cushions are contoured for comfort and to promote "sitting up straight."
The Sprout Chair is available in the following styles:
Orange/Birch (left), Taupe/Birch (center), and Green/Walnut (right).
Once children have reached three years old, parents can convert the high chair to a youth chair, as shown on the far right. An extra cushion comes included. The chair can then also lowered to table height, so your child can enjoy meals with the rest of the family.
This Sprout Chair measures 12 1/4 x 19 x 37 inches (L x W x H)
Tool-Free and Easy to Clean for Your Convenience
The Sprout Chair allows parents to easily build and adjust the seat height and depth, tray, and footrest with just a few quick motions. The tray provides a stable setting for children to eat from, and can easily contain accidental spills up to seven ounces within its walls. For big messes, the cushions are easily wipeable so parents can quickly clean crumbs and other sticky messes off the chair for the next mealtime.
Built for Safety and Comfort
The Sprout Chair complies with both the ASTM and CPSIA standards. Both colorful cushions are BPA-, phthalate-, and PVC-free, so parents can feel reassured that their children are eating in a safe environment.

**UPDATE 8-30-2019 (After 14 months use)** Still love this highchair! Our 20 month old is huge (36 inches tall and 33 lbs) and extremely active even when sitting in this chair and it is still holding strong, he has even tipped it over a couple times (not while in it!) and nothing has broke. We did have to tighten the screws and bolts once so far because he wiggles so much he loosened them. He has thrown up in the chair twice now resulting in me having to completely disassemble the tray by removing the screws and neither time did I find mold inside the tray as other reviews have stated. After the first time he threw up in the chair I emailed OXO customer service to ask if extra straps were available for purchase since the set I had were completelly soaked and unusable until washed, they just sent me a set for free. I recently contacted OXO customer service because my son has left a lot of scratches and a couple of gouges in the tray with his silverware, no big deal but we are expecting a second baby and I figure like a cutting board these gouges may harbor bacteria, so I wanted to order a new tray...they're sending me a new tray for free! We have had to replace the bottom seat cushion twice now because the fabric stops sticking to the velcro after a while (even after cleaning the velcro, the fabric just stops sticking), but we are still on the original back cushion. My only complaint is that the cushions are sold in a 3 piece pack (so I have 2 back cushions and 3 seat cushions for without the harness that are unused to date) and the color choices available aren't very broad (1st time magenta or lime green was all that was available, 2nd time tan or grey was all that was available).
Aesthetically, I love it. It's the same height as a regular chair and brings our child at the same height as the rest of the family. It was easy to assemble (I did it myself) and the dark wood base made it fit in nicely with our home.
Cushions have lasted pretty good. There are a few small puncture marks (it's like a thick plastic cover on padding) but it has held up very well. To clean it you just lift the cushion off (it's attached by velcro to the white plastic chair) and I scrub it in the sink and then let it dry overnight. I probably clean it every few days (some times longer if I'm being honest!). Two things to be careful (1) As my daughter got older and less messy, I didn't have to clean the seat as often because she didn't spill her food. Well, I think she spilled milk or juice and I didn't know it and when I went to clean it, the bottom of the pad (which is not plastic but almost like a felt) had mold growing on it. I soaked it on the "handwash" cycle on my washing machine about 2-3 times to make sure I got all the nasty stuff off but it did stain it and made it look like mold was still there even though it's not. You can't see it since it's on the bottom, but it does look gross. So be careful as the bottom does soak up liquid. Getting into the habit of washing it and letting it dry overnight would prevent this. (2) Really the only negative for me is the velcro. The bottom of the pad is a felt-like material and it sticks to pads that are adhered to the white seat. Over time these get food on them and are pretty much impossible to clean off. I've got them as clean as I can but there isn't much you can do. Of course, this comes with three years of hard use so to me it's just a basic wear and tear problem. (Side note to remove the horn every month and give it a good scrub as food likes to get in the cracks--but everything comes out fairly quick which makes deep cleaning not a total pain.)
We started my daughter in this around 1 year old and now have my 16 month old son using it (he started as soon as he could sit up well, maybe 8 months or so). He is now huge and at 33 pounds and likes to rock the chair back and forth and it's not going anywhere. It is incredibly sturdy.
I never use the straps (!!) because my kids hate them and it keeps them secure with the tray on. I (of course) don't leave them in it unattended but that is another reason why I like this so much. It's very sturdy and very secure.
The last big thing to mention is that the horn comes unscrewed and you just put the square seat cushion on and it instantly becomes a booster seat. I love this as you can push your kid right up to the table and they can sit like a big kid, while giving them the extra support of not falling to the left or right if they were just in a regular booster. It really serves as a great in-between from high chair to booster.
All in all, my sister is currently pregnant and we are planning on her buying a new set of pads (not because the pads are in bad shape, but so she can get the color she wants with no mold stains!) and she will essentially have a brand new high chair. It has held up SO WELL and I'm excited to have kid #3 get some use out of it. I highly recommend this chair and will be a bit sad to see it go in the next year, but we are moving forward with the next phase of our lives.
