The Story of OXO

OXO was founded on the philosophy of Universal Design, which is the concept of designing products that are easy to use for the largest possible spectrum of people. For OXO, this means designing products for young and old, male and female, left- and right-handed and many with special needs.

After hundreds of models, dozens of design iterations, and extensive manufacturing research, the first group of 15 OXO cooking tools was introduced in 1990. These ergonomically designed tools challenged the industry norm, raising the bar of consumer expectation for comfort and performance. OXO set a new standard by creating effective, attractive tools that people of all ages and abilities were proud and eager to use.

Over twenty-five years later, OXO offers more than 850 products covering many parts of the home. Each new introduction follows the original user-focused design process, furthering OXO’s mission to create innovative consumer products that make everyday living easier.
