This new addition to the Oakton ecotestr product line features updates to make measuring water quality easier and faster. The display is larger with a better viewing angle, has indicators for battery life, readiness, and calibration, and shows both the parameter and temperature readings at the same time. To enhance field use, the cap was redesigned to be leak-proof and can be attached to the top of the meter when not being used no more lost caps! the cap features a fill line, so you know how much sample you need for an accurate reading when using the cap as a sample cup. It is also wider, providing a base to keep the meter upright for hands-free measurements. The keypad now has a fourth key to simplify menu navigation while keeping convenient one-touch calibration. The new housing is compatible with lanyards to prevent losing or dropping, but is still waterproof and Floats just in case. Upgrades to design and function won't break the bank expanded 4-digit dual-line display shows pH and temperature readings simultaneously additional key provides an easier, more intuitive interface improved cap functions as a sample cup and as a stabilizing base to stand the meter upright IP67-rated housing is waterproof and floats.

Great PH Meter! Calibrates and reads perfectly!

Great PH meter for Hydroponics! I got the "like new" purchase option and saved almost $20. Now, in the description, it said the packaging was damaged. When I received my meter (the very next day!) the packaging was fine...... but the cap was missing. This bummed me out a little. The meter itself worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier. If your into any type of indoor gardening, you know how important a good PH meter is. Those $11 or even $20 meters are crap. They don't last, and the calibration can get all jacked up after just a little bit of use. So, this PH meter is awesome. Calibrates perfectly, reads perfectly. I also use a secondary PH test kit that has the liquid test solution. That way I know for sure my PH meter is working correctly. I highly recommend this meter. I didn't get the cap with it, but I did save about $20. No complaints here. Highly recommend this meter if you don't want to spend too much $$$. Blue Labs would be my first choice for PH and PPM meters, but your gonna spend about $100+. This meter is a very close second in comparison and it has great features. Happy Growing Friends!

This pH meter arrived in seemingly fine shape but wouldn't turn on. I sent it back for a refund. It's surprising it got past quality control, I know it's the brand new model but come on! I really wanted this model but I guess I'll go with bluelab. I don't want to order another one and risk is arriving doa.

**** Review changed to 5 stars*** I received another unit and I thought it was broken also, I took out the batteries and put them in again - it works!! If yours itsnt working on arrival try taking the batteries out and putting them back in

Updated after use: pleased with the device. It has worked well for a good long while now. No issues with the replacement. Rep said Amazon isn’t the best place and my replacement came from a lab supply place, I think cole parmer if I remember correctly. Pleased with the way things turned out

Update: contacted mfgr and they are replacing the device. Let’s see how that goes

Doesn’t read accurately. Expected pH reading 5.4, measured 5.7. Check with better equipment... 5.4. Recalibrate, remeasure... 5.7. Do I trust this thing? Or maybe the known value plus the $2k equipment? I’m gonna go with this thing is worthless

Didn't hold up to daily use. NO MANUAL CALIBRATION!

Worked great for the first 3 months. I mean really great! Fast, accurate, you name it. Always stored it in storage solution. Was only used to test nutrient water for our tomatoes and peppers.

After the 3 month mark, the auto calibrate stopped working. Was off by 2 points (if it says 6.0, it was actually 6.2) gradually kept going, now it's off by .5 and the bottom cover or "cup" of you prefer, turned white and cracked.

The auto calibrate still says "Done" as if it's working, but alas, it's not.

For the price, I would avoid this one!

Maybe I was so disappointed because it seems so well built. It's really sturdy, seems to have great seals ect.

I have to do industrial boiler water testing daily for my workplace. PH is an important measurement, so when our meter got dropped and broken at work, I talked our purchaser into buying 2 of these. They lasted about a month each before they wouldn't auto calibrate. So now I look like a fool for recommending these. Maybe the newer model is better, but this one is not worth the plastic it's made from.

Sorry Oakton, you missed the mark on this one.

I use this as a means of ensuring the accuracy of my ph sensor, or as a quick gage of ph after changing the reservoir. It takes 10 seconds or so for the ph reading to settle and lock in. The readings themselves appear to be accurate as its always within 0.1 ph of my sensors reading. I do calibrate this monthly, and the calibration process is about as easy as it comes since it detects which solution its in on its own after a few seconds.
My only complaint is this isnt backlit so i need to shine a flashlight on it when its in my reservoir to see when it's got a concrete reading.

Good but Older Version May be a Bit Better

I have older version and wanted a newer one for some work on anthocyanins. This is a good unit and it is a bit more visible but not that much. It does display pH and temperature. One should remove the batteries and replace them to be certain it turns on.

The cap is a bit better than the old one and has a level for filling calibration fluids. Calibration on the old one was fine and easy, 4, 7, 10 pH. This one is a bit more tricky. Never really tells you it is done. Also when calibrating at pH 10 it would not go above 9.8 and at 4 it would not go below 4.1 Thus I would be concerned about the calibration. I did not have this on the older version.

I have used them back to back and they seem consistent to +/- 0,1 pH.

Overall this is good but see no big difference with older one and the calibration issue is a concern.

Buy this with some good calibration solution. I've fought PH with a cheap meter but this made it EASY with an easy to read lcd display. I don't know about longevity yet but I'm super pleased so far, I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Came ready to go out of the package, I calibrated it, and it worked great. Helluva product, and I usually don't do reviews....

I use mine daily. I calibrate once a week if not more. It's been accurate so far. I rinse and clean after particularly turbid water. Store with a damp paper towel soaked in ph 7. GTG

One of the best testers I've used besides bluelabs. I would highly recommend this PH meter, accuracy is pretty good, and calibration is a breeze. Also its waterproof too, so if you drop it in the bucket by accident your tester will still be fine. :)

I would have given a much better review but it did not come with calibration solutions, or stabilizer solution BUT worse is I did not know if it was pre calibrated or if I needed to calibrate.

It is easy to use - but poor instructions on how to calibrate.

Accuracy I do not know because I have nothing to compare it with at this point. I will soon have a comparison and will update if NEEDS improvement

if your looking for a Decent lower price PH meter look no further we are a commercial operation and have many stations We had 3 blue Lab ph Pens all fail to calibrate correctly and in general quality has dropped off , I had good luck 15 years back with this company's meters that floated in the Rez So I gave this a try and wow what a superior product to the Blue Lab and for this price point , show EC than PPM so the staff learn the EC and PPM Value quality fast Unit !
