This book was so different then what i was expecting, i thought this was going to be another one of those books that have these sob stories about there life and how this or that was encouraging to them. but this one wasn't. It was well written and chock full of poems and quotes to encourage anyone in all walks of life. I felt like they were easy to apply and copied several into my prayer journal for one of my friends as an encouragement to her.All in all a very well written and easy to use book all Christians will love and cherish using, especially when writing out a card and not knowing what on earth to write that will be encouraging to that person. I would defiantly recommend.
I recieved this book through the Author for review, to share my honest opinion on.
The price of the book would be worth it if only for the haunting, powerful and stirring poem about Jesus' resurrection, titled He Got Up. But there is so much more. Part journal, part devotional, "Oasis for My Soul" is lovingly and gently told - a wonderful companion and guide on our spiritual journey, a real keeper of a book that you will want to share with others.
“Feed your spirit and refresh your soul”- that is exactly what Oasis for My Soul will do. Once I opened this collection of poems, poetic prayers, praise and spiritually-based inspirational writings, I experienced God in such a personal, yet purposeful and profound manner. Tracey writes with the intent of quenching your spiritual thirst in a clear, easily discernible style. In her prologue, she writes, “My first goal is to help you deepen your intimacy with God and encounter Him in a new way. My second goal is for you to receive encouragement and comfort.” She has accomplished both goals in an extraordinary manner.
The thirty-one poems and inspirational writings that can be read as a poetry book or for daily devotional reading is divided into seven chapters: “Love Letters to God”,” Journey into Wholeness”, “Daily Living”, “Encouragement”, “Grief”, “Relationships” and “Salvation”. Tracey's first poem, “Enjoy Your Company” has become one of my favorite ways to start my daily devotional period. This book is definitely a "must-read"!
I would recommend this book to anyone who is going through difficult times and need some inspiration.
