In Obama’s Four Horsemen, syndicated columnist David Harsanyi takes a provocative look at how the Obama Administration allowed four big problems to mushroom into looming disasters we can no longer avoid or postpone. In his famous conversational, fact-driven, and humorous tone, Harsanyi argues that President Obama’s handling of both domestic and foreign crises has set the stage for a disaster of Biblical proportions.
Under Obama, America has become a land of more dependence, more hand-outs, more federal programs, and more government agencies. The great danger is that Americans have gotten used to it. Many people today expect, as a matter of fact, that the government will hand them health insurance, student loans, birth control, and anything else they might need or desire while they are increasingly numb to the pernicious creep of the bureaucratic state and the alarming escalation of unsustainable spending and debt.
Meanwhile, powerful forces abroad seek to destroy American and Western culture while Obama has sat on his thumbs and looked the other way, tossing out politically correct platitudes when asked about his response to their open threats and aggression.
America is facing a time of great upheaval, domestic and global Obama’s Four Horseman is a provocative expose on how we got here, and a chilling prediction of what’s to come.

Editorial Reviews
From the Inside Flap
--Michelle Malkin, New York Times bestselling author of Culture of Corruption
"Whether it's our exploding debt or abortion or foreign policy crises our country faces, David Harsanyi's book Obama's Four Horsemen paints a vivid picture of what he aptly warns is the 'highway to hell.' The moral and practical disasters that he describes we Americans face in our near future deserve serious consideration. Obama threatens an America that will be definitely changed for the worse."
--John Lott, author of At the Brink and The Bias Against Guns
"David Harsanyi is one of America's most dedicated defenders of liberty and is such a happy warrior he's like Genghis Khan on Prozac."
--Jonah Goldberg, author of Liberal Fascism and The Tyranny of Clichés
"David Harsanyi is someone I read, no matter the subject, just because his byline is on an article or column. In Obama's Four Horsemen, Harsanyi insists four more years of Obama will bring a debt disaster, more dependency on government, declining American influence globally, and a wave of nihilism. It's a scary scenario, but utterly believable. Harsanyi explains the Obama threat brilliantly in this extremely important book."
--Fred Barnes, executive editor of the Weekly Standard

Harisanyi covers fairly standard conservative ground (and analysis of current America's dominant progressive culture), but through enough of a libertarian lens that I can get behind most of what he says. What he covers is a general but thorough recap of the past 5 years of Obama "leadership".
It's not a really deep analysis but it is clear and easy to understand, and his writing style is like this too; straight forward, to the point, and intelligent without being overly complicated, witty or wonkish. Basically what he defines as the "Four Horsemen" are our nation's culture of "debt", "dependency", "surrender" (a foreign policy of appeasement), and "death" (specifically as in abortion).
These are the forces which Americans are becoming increasingly (and rapidly) desensitized to, and which will combine to lead to a cultural collapse if they are not met head on. This is clearly a call to Americans (left and right, young and old) to recognize and strengthen traditional values of moderation, self-reliance, strength and respect for Life. It is not a call to return to the past as much as move forward in a more sane and balanced way.
It's a pretty simple polemic actually - in a nice and simple, short and easy to read package. (BTW, my book is only 200 pages long, not the 256 pages Amazon advertises.) The only thing thats really missing (and what keeps it neat and tidy) is any discussion of whats behind all this - of the masters behind The Horsemen if you will - the agenda of the New World Order and the effects of the Patriot Act for instance. This kind of discussion would quickly get messy because it would have to extend beyond Obama's administration to question the power of the executive branch itself, and the shadowy influences which control it....
Looking at today's events. Putin is changing the shape of countries and our President is busy interviewing with hollywood stars and picking his March madness brackets.
