Thankfully, Byron paid attention and documented it all. I'm vaguely familiar with everything that he discusses, and he fills in all the blanks for the moments I had to step away. Somehow, the partisan attacks on Trump are even more insane than I recall, and certainly more insane than anyone could have predicted.
If you've ever seen Byron on Fox News or listened to his podcast, you know he has a unique ability to lay out the facts in a calm but compelling demeanor. I'm much more familiar with his television appearances and podcast than I am with his writing, so it was a pleasant surprise for me that his style translates well into print.
Then the book morphs into the pathetic character LTC Vindman who leaks his story of Trump's Ukraine telephone call to the CIA whistleblower who then files a complaint to start the impeachment drama. There was no law protecting the CIA whistleblower's identity but the American people are forced to watch Shifty make sure that all questions do not identify the CIA whistleblower. Shifty clearly has trouble with the 1st and 6th Amendments and has everyone play by Shifty’s ad hoc rules. It reminds one of "Thunder Road" in the movie Grease when the Dannie Zuko faces off with Crater Face with the Scorpions who tells him - "the rules are, there are no rules. We are playing for pinks."
Pelosi, the ultimate Scorpion, plays Cha Cha, puts on her yellow pants and lets down the Democrat scarf to start the race at Thunder Road saying "Come on Baby, Come on Baby" to Shifty while he conducts a third world impeachment doomed for failure. The Senate cuts Shifty off to win the race.
Stalin would be proud of Shifty even though Shifty ends up losing and the entire debacle cost the nation over $40 million dollars. Shifty retreats in tears to California.
In the end, the Deep State wins by electing Biden president who dreamed up a "Logan Act" violation for Michael Flynn and Comey followed orders and pursued Flynn only days after being appointed National Security Director.
The only consolation is that for four years Comey, Shifty and the Deep State Democrats were outed. At one time people actually thought Comey was an honorable man. Transparency will come to an end in January 2021 when Shifty and Deep State Democrats and the rest of the Washington swamp regroup and return to power and to make sure that no one will ever expose them again. Big media, big tech, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post and Facebook, like Orwellian programmed lap dogs will be saluting and standing in line waiting for new orders from the White House and provide the necessary cover as they pronounce journalism officially dead.
