I found that the story compelling and I SO wanted to know what was going to happen. I enjoyed reading about Peter’s men and their hide outs and seeing them also struggle with what actually taking Sara away from her family and life is. It was good to see them as people not just shadows in the night (I hope one of them or all get books!!!). We learn more about what happened to Peter and why he reacts the way he does. There is a reason Peter doesn’t do normal or can do normal—who could as an orphan and without any mentor he becomes the “perfect” weapon for the Russian government. Dating and courting is not part of their life. It cannot be. I want Peter to get his HEA he deserves it notwithstanding the darkness of who he is.
Sara has the toughest time in this book. Who she is, who she owns loyalty, what her moral fiber demand are all in conflict. She also doesn’t believe Peter truly loves her. She cannot believe he does because how can he. I know for some she came as annoying or immature but I found it truly brilliant the way her conflict is that she wants Peter but she cannot reconcile it with who she is and her obligations to her parents and work.
The reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5—is that the last 1/3 of the book felt rushed and most of the action happened then. Thus I felt left with too many open issues and while I loved seeing Lucas and Yulia again the whole set up felt a little flat to me. The escape attempt, why Yulia acted the way she did, and what happens afterwards didn’t all come together for me. That being said I have read it twice now and absolutely cannot wait for the 3rd book to come out!!! That is my other pet peeve I am not sure I like the open ended answer of 2018---- that just teaches me that from now on I have to wait to all of them are out because it feel so anxious and I want to know NOW!
Well done Ms. Zaires what a talented author.
Obsession Mine is book 2 in the Tormentor Mine series. If you haven't read the first one... start there! I was sure the budding romance would be watered and grow more easily in this book, but alas being drugged and kidnapped put a damper on the flames of love.... temporarily.
I love the detail of the mountian home, the in depth fighting scenes, and the way even the bad guys only really hurt bad guys who have done worse.
Towards the end of this book, Zaries pulls together some of my favorite characters from Twist Me and Capture Me. You don't have to read those series to enjoy this one... but it sounds like the next book, Tormentor Mine Book 3, will tie all three sets of characters together in a messy beautiful bow.
I love that the characters accepted they were truly in love by the end of this book. I'm so glad we know they're both safe and together (for now.) The cliffhanger was more of an intellectual one than an emotional one. I can't WAIT for the next book, but I'm also very thankful this book was beautifully closed out while I wait for book 3.
This is a MUST read.
I'd give it 5000 stars if I could.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page, and it was such a thrill-ride to get both points of view.
The opinions expressed in this review are my own, and no one influenced my opinion of this story.
I would definitely recommend this book, the other companion series and the Krinar novels by Anna, her writing is really that good.

Well, this was the biggest let down in my fanning out of Anna Zaire's writing. I couldn't wait for this book to be released.Read more
