Looking for a plastic Ocarina of Time replica that looks and sounds amazing? Look no further, because Songbird Ocarina partnered with Stein Ocarina to create the world's premium plastic replica, the Ocarina of Time: Kokiri Edition!
Songbird's dream for the Kokiri edition was for it to be the most ergonomically comfortable, visually accurate, and musically pleasing plastic Ocarina of Time replica available. After months of designing, crafting, and fine tuning, we've made this dream a reality.
Though light in weight, the Kokiri Edition is heavy with detail and very durable. The tuning system is like the English 6 hole pendant system. As a result, the Kokiri edition features the identical button layout from the classic Zelda games and has a fingering system that easily translates to and from any of our other 6 hole ocarinas. Thanks to this innovation, you get to play the exact ocarina that Link used to save Hyrule!
Unlike other plastic ocarinas, the Ocarina of Time Kokiri Edition was designed for musical precision and clarity. Crystal clear high notes are effortless to play, and the beautiful tone of the Kokiri edition makes it the only plastic ocarina that sounds comparable to a high quality ceramic ocarina.
To aide you on your musical journey, we've included an instructional Zelda songbook to help new and experienced ocarina players get the most out of their ocarina. The booklet is full of useful tips and the Zelda songs you can't wait to play: Zelda's Lullaby, Saria's Sing (Lost Woods), Kokiri Forest, Epona's Song (Lon Lon Ranch), Song of Storms (Windmill Song), The Market Song, Song of Time.
Make the Ocarina of Time: Kokiri Edition yours today for just $39.95, a deal that Ganon himself couldn't refuse!
Note: Fine mold extraction lines or markings are part of the manufacturing process, they are not scratches!

I'm not afraid to put my face behind my claim, so I urge you to watch this video and see exactly why this ocarina received its well deserved 5 star rating.
Fast forward a decade later. I was looking for a gift for my nephew's twenty-first birthday that was hopefully less than $30 with prime shipping because stupid me had forgotten that his birthday had been at the end of the week and I was low on cash but still wanted to find him something I thought he would enjoy. By chance I stumbled on this Songbird replica and instantly remembered the company's name, and seeing how it was plastic and would be the least likely to break during shipping (since I didn't have any time to waste for shipping emergencies, again, plus he would be less likely to accidentally break it or have his cat knock it off a shelf) it seemed like the perfect choice.
I didn't take any photos of it when it came in, but Songbird truly dominates with quality. The OoT gift box was gorgeous by itself and the ocarina was beautifully painted with very few flaws - just a few spots from crafting of it, which some of them gently wiped off or were almost completely unnoticeable. It came with a small booklet to reach you the basics of playing it as well as a few LoZ songs, including the Song of Time on the back of the box.
He hasn't fully learned how to play it quite yet, but he seemed to enjoy the gift and said the sound was pretty close to the game although a tiny bit off to him. Plus it makes a great LoZ collection piece.
The photos advertised are as accurate as they come and I couldn't be more pleased with the product. I might even have to order one for myself to play with one of these days~
I give props to the tone quality of the ocarina. It's a fairly clean tone that stays mostly clean and tight up to the highest notes of its A4-F6 range, and the tone rivals other plastics in the $25 - 40 price range. It sounds like the ocarina in game too, chirpy and bright, so that's neat.
The Ocarina of Time has finger holes laid out like N64 C-buttons, not laid out traditionally or as if meant for human hands. Songbird managed to work up a fingering system that works with how the ocarina looks in game, adding in a couple of discreet fake holes to complete the look. Resulting, the control scheme Songbird cooked up compromises on intonation and hand comfort so that it'll look accurate. Here, have some bullet points below:
-Hand comfort: your left hand ring & pinky don't sit comfortably. Mine end up scrunched and awkward, hurting after ten minutes.
-Low notes: Your right ring finger controls low B, Bb, and A. With one finger hole. You're supposed to do this by half-covering the hole in combination with varying your breath pressure, and I assure you that you'll rarely play any of these notes in tune. It's not a practical system.
-Intonation: This ocarina's fingering system is based on the cross-fingered 6-hole English Pendant system. You do different combinations of differently-sized holes to play a full scale. The system is neat and fun, though not perfect, so with this ocarina you end up with a whacky, crinkly breath incline as you play toward the high notes. Some notes you suddenly need a lot more breath for, some you pull back a little bit. Ideally ocarinas should have a smooth increase in breath without any kinks as you uncover more holes. Simply put, this ocarina is just difficult to play in tune.
-The thumb holes: They're huge. I'm guessing its for tuning purposes so that the high notes won't be too loud. The right thumb hole is more than half an inch across, almost 1 1/2 centimeters. I don't think grown guys will have a problem but girls definitely need to check hand size.
This seems like everything relevant. Nutshell is that the ocarina makes a lot of compromises to perfectly match the ocarina that appears in game, and it affects its ability to play music. This ocarina is fine for a few simple Zelda songs, but if you have interest in playing music further than that, I say skip this fingering system and grab a 12-hole ocarina instead.
For anyone reading this that's looking for a great, practical ocarina for around this price, I recommend either the "Bravura" Focalink plastic 12-hole Alto C through Songbird (comes in Zelda-blue!) or the "Night by Noble" plastic that you can also find on Amazon. They're both great though I prefer the latter for its precision.
Hope someone finds this helpful! My name's Alex and I have five years experience with ocarinas as a serious hobbyist.
This Ocarina is GREAT!
It looks exactly like the one in the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time!
Perfect for cosplay and/or Zelda FANS !
It sounds awesome, is comfortable and easy to play!
The songbook/tutorial is super clear and the box is ADORABLE!
I highly recommend this Ocarina!
It is true to tune
-You can play accidentals easily, and it has a nice range that stays in tume.
-The tone is decent, and sounds nice in capable hands.
-The holes are indented, which makes it feel like it is difficult to cover holes properly without effort. This makes playing the instrument less intuitive.
-The plastic. It looks and feels cheap, More like a toy than an instrument.
-the hole placement can be awkward, again, doesn't feel intuitive at all.
Bottom line: if you're recording with this thing, this is the one you want. It's one of the better sounding ocarinas I've come across. However, if feel and appearance are important to you as well, or if you want a faster learning curve without constantly adjusting your fingers to completely cover holes, look elsewhere.
