This is the first novel I've read by her.Aurora is a 20-year-old professional woman who suddenly finds herself engaged. Should she have expected this? She has dated James nearly her whole life. It seems James had different plans than Aurora.James is ready to lock down this marriage. His family expects it, Aurora's family expects it, Aurora is the only one that doesn't. While she accepts the engagement, she isn't thrilled.Months before the wedding, she calls it off in a phone conversation. Then scrambles to her relatives states away. Where she swears to spend time being single and focusing on herself.Brick has heard a lot about Aurora. Has seen her only in photographs. It pales in comparison to seeing her in person.Aurora and Brick's path cross. There is something there that Brink embraces, while Aurora fights tooth and nail against it.Such a sweet story if it wasn't a tad creepy. Brick knowing everything about Aurora. Whose family would do that? And why? I guess further books might reveal the why.Why does the author keep repeating her hair color?What is the fixation on Aurora's looks? Every chapter expresses something about how good looking she is. I do get it, she's hot with (unbelievably) a low self-esteem. Not sure how much the reader needs to be repeated to.I'm not sure if I received the entire book...I might be missing some chapters. If I am I will update my review, but as of now, it's a 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐
