Tami does a great job of drawing the reader in to each story, which honestly amazed me giving Tami's background as a lawyer. This book isn't a dull read. It's actually very personal and it's almost like you're sitting there at the table listening to Tami do the interview with each woman and hearing their testimony and then how they learned to discover how to read the bible and have it change them.
I was surprised at the various ways these women revealed they engage in the word of God. Some of them have journals they keep, while others have tools like GoTandem they use. Regardless what they used, the point is that their lives all changed dramatically when they began to get the words of the bible, "off the page" and "into their lives". That is the point of this book.
I think this is a great book for anyone who is interested in hearing how "normal everyday people" read the bible. I know we often hear about big name super star Christians and how they discover truth in the scripture, but most of us aren't that person. Some of us are mom's and some of us have other challenges that have helped us learn how to make reading the bible a priority. Tami accomplished her mission with this book and I wholeheartedly commend it to you.
This book tells the stories of several different women, the struggles they've had in their lives, and how they learned to have a relationship with God and engage the Word in their daily lives. Each one found a different way that works for her, and the reader is encouraged to try each of them out to find the one (or combination) that best works for her.
There is a lot of good information in this book, and I got some new ideas for making Bible study more relevant. I think this book will be very helpful for anyone looking to get God's Word off the page and into their lives.
