First off, this disc will only play in 3D, and it's only 720p, this is one reason why I deducted 1 star.

In spite of it only being 720p, the scenes on the soccer/football fields are pretty amazing. The extra inserted interview footage, not so much. the interview footage is very soft and not quite too sharp, where as the footage on the fields is amazingly sharp.

This movie is simply a documentary of the World Cup playoffs in South Africa. It points out how having the tournament in S. Africa has given pride to the nation as a whole, and brought people of all races in Africa together.

Mainly, however, it highlights many of the (most important) games of the FIFA 2010 World Cup series. I am by no means a sports fan, but I found this BD very entertaining. The footage shot during the games at times makes you feel like your right in the middle of the action. For the most part, the 3D was shot very well, except for a few brief instances of mis-synch between left and right images, and what appears to be a brief instances where the stereo seems inverted. There's not too much of this, however, but this is the other reason I deducted one star.

The interviews and other supplementary inserted footage at times appears to be rather flat, with very little depth, especially the outside shots of the stadiums, but I assume that is due to the zoom factor from a long distance. The interviews were shot rather close, and those are almost flat as well.

However, the game footage is awesome, which is why I bought the BD in the first place. I had seen a short clip of some of the action in 3D which looked really nice, and when I saw the title up for pre-oreder, I jumped on it.

Fairly happy with the 3D effects however, being a soccer fan, I thought the interviews dragged and was expecting to see more of the dramatic action. Teams like Chile, USA, and many others had VERY short clips, if any at all and some of the best goals of the tournament weren't even shown. The journalists being interviewed were in 3D but, they just sat in one setting and added very little to the overall excitement of the film.(very very boring). I would have liked to have seen more of the fanfare as well; and the dramatic "buildup" story was flat and felt rushed.
Overall not very satisfied.

Only english and german audio. NO SUBTITLES

It's only 720p and it's only 1:04 lenght, I would like more action soccer time.

The 3D view is spectacular.

Unicamente audio en ingles y alemán. NO TIENE SUBTITULOS

La resolución es únicamente de 720p, dura solo 1:04, me hubiera gustado mas tiempo de partidos.

El 3D es impresionante.

This 3D blu-ray was awesome. It came brand new and in perfect condition. This blu-ray truly recaptured the most exciting highlights of the tournament. The visuals and sounds were clear and in hi-def. It brought out all kinds of emotions, from the breathtaking goal celebrations to the heartbreaking tears of losing. I enjoyed every second of it. I recommend it to sports fans as well as any cinephile who would enjoy an hour of the beautiful game.

After being among the various ethnic crowds who were listening and/or generating
the unforgettable and irritable buzz of noises at the 2010 Fifa World Cup; I
must praise "Sony Pictures Home Entertainament Inc." for using a nice music theme to
cover up the unofficial soundtrack ie. the relentless drone of the vuvuzelas (the
ear-splitting din of the traditional South African stadium horns) during soccer (football)
matches, which reached more than 125 decibels. The in-depth 3D effects were superb
when considering that soccer (football) is in fact a long distance visual capture element
from our eyes; however, the out-of-the screen 3D efffects were somewhat minimal and
average, as I did expect to have the balls coming out of the screen and hit me; one more
thing, "Sony's Disc distributors" could had at least placed the picture of the "World Cup"
or even the "3D effect at the intro of the film" on the disc itself rather than selling the
disc as it is (blank and unattractive).
Overall, this 3D Blu-ray is a MUST for 3D Lovers' collections because this 2010 event
is bygone and hence is to be preserved as an heirloom no matter how bad it seems to
some people. I do recommend that you torpedo yourself to Amazon.com and get a copy
before it runs out.

For a 3D Blu-ray done at 720p, this title is done REALLY, REALLY, REALLY well!!! Shot in true 3D footage (none of that fake fill in footage we tolerate now), it puts you so deep in the game, you are amazed at how involved you are. That alone gives this title a five star review. Why it is knocked down to 3? Sony cheated the US consumers. This BD release was to promote the Sony 3D Blu-ray market entry. The campaign was rigorous in the US. Sony pushed Blu-Ray adoption, pushing 3D and pushing 4K. So why release a title such as this and completely ignore the entire US inclusion in one of the greatest World Cups we've had. The US vs England match was hyped and talked about with major enthusiasm. They had not met seen each other in a match in 60 years, and for Sony to ignore it was completely disrespectful. The US v Ghana game was epic in the Round of 16! Again...we should have been considered. The footage was there...IN 3D, just edited out. They even featured Landon Donovan in the menu as an even bigger slap in the face. Overall...I am happy that I purchased it. It put me back in the Summer of 2010. I just needed so much more.
