Product Description
Well-Known, Established Quality
The Creality 3D CR-10 was our first attempt at creating the perfect 3D printer to fill the gap in the consumer grade market for an exceptional, durable, and simple to operate 3D printer. Over more than a year later, this model continues to surpass expectations as it has grown to be one of the most popular options in its class. The large online community of users contribute to a rich collection of media, videos, guides, and tutorials for a variety of projects which they have used their Creality 3D printer to accomplish as well as plenty of free resources meant to improve upon the already great design that really makes this model stand out as an excellent choice for the beginning hobbyist.
CR-10 Standout Features

|---|---|---|
Extra-Large Build PlatformMeasuring at nearly 12 inches by 12 inches square, the size of the CR-10 build plate goes nearly unrivaled in similar printers. The full height of the build space is 15.5 inches. This incredible build volume makes the CR-10 an excellent choice for any maker, hobbyist, educator or student who are looking to create wonderful and custom projects for work, education, or even just leisure. The heated bed has an operating range of up to 115*C which provides the necessary conditions for many high quality exotic or experimental filaments. |
Larger Ergonomic Leveling NutsOne of the most technical aspects of operating a 3d printer comes with leveling the bed. In order to make this process much easier for even the most basic of experience level, we include these extra large, oversized leveling nuts which help secure the hotbed to the printers Y-axis gantry. These large nuts allow for fine-tuning and more accurate adjustments which lead to higher print quality, more consistent and better results, and fewer headaches. |
Community DrivenOur CR-10 model 3D printer has been the most popular model in our brand's history. Having sold over 100,000 units since its inception in 2017, few other printers can claim such great market reception. This means a community of users is growing daily and social media websites are filled with unique reviews and people talking about their Creality 3D printers. This community-driven experience has lead to many aftermarket upgrades and lots of options for people to customize and improve upon our base design with anything they wish to add. Thingiverse, Reddit, Facebook, and others, all have multiple CR-10-related model collections and groups. All of these people have contributed to the massive pool of resources regarding guides, reviews, upgrades, and troubleshooting procedures covering nearly every aspect of the CR-10. This printer really is "Tried and True". |
Superior Construction
The CR-10 features a 100% high-quality aluminum extrusion frame, and a nearly all-metal construction. These aluminum extrusions were selected for use in the CR-10's design because of their structural integrity, interoperability, and for the great quality control process ensuring each piece is sturdy, is flat with no warping, and meets the mechanical tolerances required, making it perfect for use in 3D printing applications.
Superior Construction
The CR-10 has been ahead of its time since it even came out in 2017. Creality 3D was the first to use this excellent engineering thermoplastic in our POM V-slot wheels. The Delrin plastic wheel is a dimensionally stable, wear resistant, and temperature resistant wheel that nearly silently operates all moving parts in the CR-10 design. This design choice has lowered the noise level drastically while printing, and the dimensional stability has added to the CR-10's ability to print great quality prints, time after time, for years to come. These wheels also cut down on maintenance, as no grease or oil is required.
Superior Construction
The lead screw is the most important component of any FDM 3D printers Z-axis. The Z screw will translate the spinning motion of the motor into a vertical motion for your printer extruder. Our high-quality lead screw is precision machined with deep and square cut threads that firmly lock onto the Z-axis nut that slides along the lead screw during operation. Without a high-quality lead screw like this, backlash inside the threads and nut could hurt print quality.
Superior Construction
The superior power supply is capable of heating the oversize hotbed to 70*C in under 5 minutes, while safely protecting all of the printers valuable electric components with its dual fuse design. Any unexpected power surge could ruin all the electronics inside if the fuse were compromised, so this double fuse design is one extra safeguard ensuring safe operation especially when no operator is present like during long prints.

"Slice"Popular free to download slicing software such as Cura will divide or "slice" the 3D model into thin horizontal layers. A multitude of previously designed 3D models are readily available on various internet websites for free. The software then creates a code that your printer can read and understand. Basically a set of instructions for the hardware in the printer. Save this "Gcode" file to a microSD card like a normal file. There are already many profiles designed specifically for use with the CR-10 and Cura together. |
Level and ExportUpload the file to your printer via the microSD card. Ensure that the building surface or "hotbed" is level with the nozzle or "hotend" and start the print. The CR-10 will automatically read the code in the file you selected and start extruding molten plastic filament onto the printing surface. |
WatchWatch as the printer automatically prints the layers on top of each other, one after another with incredible accuracy. The margin of error in the CR-10 is a minuscule .1 mm in both the X and Y axis, meaning that any errors in the printing process will be almost undetectable to the naked eye. |
Remove the Finished ModelOnce the printer has finished following the instructions of the Gcode uploaded earlier, it will cease operation and your finished model will be ready to remove from the build surface. Remove the model from the hotbed and use as desired. This process is so simple, even children can be learn about and understand the process and technology. Great for introducing kids to "Fun"ctional technology and engineering. |

I am in the process of returning my first unit and the replacement is on the way, should arrive tomorrow. The problem with the first unit is that during a print the model lost it's adhesion and a blob of PLA formed around the head. That caused something to happen with respect to the thermistor because I ended up with an ERR:MINTEMP which I could not clear. I could not get the thermistor out to inspect / replace it because the set screw was seized, possible from melted PLA. I tried a variety of screwdrivers in an effort to remove the screw without causing any damage and the screw head got mangled anyway. It's odd that most of the other fixtures are hex bolts but this one is a philips head. I think a hex bolt would have held up better. I contacted support and they responded quickly. They asked for a photo so the engineers could help me ASAP. They didn't ask me what they wanted a photo of specifically so I guessed and sent them multiple pictures of the head. I also explained what I had tried so far and what my theories were. I was suggesting they send me out a replacement head unit with wiring harness so I could repair the printer myself, rather that packing everything up and returning it. However I never heard back from support. I asked them for an update and didn't hear anything back. (I work in support and my own personal MO is to keep the customer informed even if a solution isn't immediately available; nobody likes to feel like they're being ignored). So I submitted the request for a return and replacement. I also ordered a replacement head unit so I have a spare. Not long after I initiated the return I got a message from their support team but it's too late now. In fact, they are now responding to my messages immediately; not sure why they waited days though.
So, how did the printer perform before ERR:MINTEMP? I had a very hard time getting my models to adhere to the glass plate. I tried tape and glue and both of those worked, just not all the time. I bought a feeler gauge and leveled the bed many times (both cold and hot) and just when I think I have it dialed in, another failure. I bought a 12x12 6-pack of mirrors and some PEI to use instead of the provided glass plate and I did get better results, but I still had adhesion issues. It's weird, the first layers go down well but after an indeterminate amount of time, the model just releases from the bed and then you get the spaghetti show. I tried the PLA that comes with the printer and I tried some hatchbox too (that seemed better). There are some mods you can print out for this printer e.g., a fan mod to blow air on the nozzle, and so I have a few things to try. What I can say is that at this stage I am still in the process of dialing in the printer. In fact, the model that failed last was a calibration tool from thingiverse. I haven't really printed anything of my own yet. I am new to 3D printing and I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos. I know it's not an exact science and even 3D printer experts run into issues. I think that once I get the adhesion issues figured out I will be all set because everything else seems to be working as expected.
Pros: cheap for the build area, good print quality, easy to set up had it running 30 minutes after i got it. easy to use.
cons: the freestanding gantry will oscillate on fast small movements like text and faint ghosting occurs, no auto level bed
recommendations if you buy this: get magigoo for the bed the tape likes to rip off with prints, go on thingiverse and print a better filament cooling duct it helps tones when bridging
other notes: its not loud, its not quiet but you can easily sleep in a room with it running also helps if you put foam on the feet.
