I’ve been a huge fan of this series and I’m confident in saying that this last book was absolutely my favorite, especially since I got to have it read to me with the superb narration of Joe Arden and Melissa Moran (a new to me narrator). I have absolutely loved Jana and Kane throughout the previous books in this series so my expectations were high for their book and Piper Rayne delivered big time!
These two have been “sizing each other up” throughout this series and they’ve been carrying on in secret for a little while. And they’re totally hot together, but because Kanewas a player and Jana is part of ownership they never thought it’d amount to more than a friends with benefits situation. But that all changes in this book with each of their roles changing on the team, making their relationship change too… and not in a way that one of them was happy about!
This book is full of witty conversations, a push and pull of emotions and a coming to an understanding that actually changed towards the end of this book. The narration by Joe and Melissa really brought this book to life for me. I found myself swooning, laughing and fanning myself! Kane’s persistence in pursuing an out of the closet, so to speak, relationship with Jana was both endearing and sexy. He’s determined to make her see that even though they work together, they can have love and all the things that go with that. Especially with their common beliefs of what their futures hold. Piper Rayne did a wonderful job of allowing Jana to come to terms with her feelings for Kane and that she can have love and run a team.
All the Florida Fury are heavily involved in this story, and some of my favorite moments came from their team building weekend and their agreeing to watch a couple of the Fury kids… I snort laughed so many times while listening to this part of the story. I knew these two were meant for each other and I loved how their relationship and love for each other built up over the entirety of the book. The only thing for me that was a challenge for me is how their feelings on a situation changed rather quickly for them. It doesn’t detract from my love of the book though. I’m sad to see these characters go but I’m hoping we’ll see one or two of them in Piper Rayne’s next new series!!

I am sad to see this series ending but I am thrilled that Kane and Jana finally get their HEA. Piper Rayne has been teasing us with the secret relationship between these two for a while now and after the big announcement in Second Shot with #76 we were left wondering how Jana, the new owner of the Florida Fury, and Kane, the new coach of the team, would be able to work so closely together and keep their relationship on the down low...well, the wait is over and we find out exactly what happens.I will say that I enjoyed 90% of this book, it was actually going to be a 5 star read but right there at the end things were changed up and everything we were lead to believe about Kane and Jana's beliefs on their future were tossed aside and a new ending to their HEA was given. I can't say that I am unhappy with the way things turned out it's just that when people have such strong beliefs about certain things they just don't make a 180 turn so easily and I think that is where I was thrown off. Don't get me wrong I still loved the story and I know plenty of people will love the turn of events but for me it just didn't feel genuine to the characters.If you enjoy Steamy Sports Romances, Office Place Romances, or New Adult Contemporary Romances I would recommend this book to you.Happy Reading!!!
