I have been reading this series since the early 90s. The Omnibus covers the 1st 3 Volumes of the acclaimed series. The format is slightly larger than the normal single volume mangas you may purchase. The 1st few pages are glossy and colored [excellently done might I add]. The remainder of the pages in the book are standard black/white. The major difference I noticed is the paper quality is thicker/heavier than the typical single volume. The artwork really shines on these pages, and while the mangaka's earlier artwork isn't necessarily as refined as his later volumes, it does not detract from the story. The binding is excellent; I can open the book wide and read all of it. The packaging was excellent [after a number of emails to Amazon about their packaging, it seems their shipping department is paying attention in packing paperback books with sturdy materials]. If you're getting this book, chances are you're already a fan of the series. Given that the 1st Omnibus price is almost 50% off at the time of this review I would recommend buying it. If you've got a nice collection of the other trades, then it's up to you though. While I have been reading manga for years, this is my 1st ever manga purchase and the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the tome is great. Kudos to DarkHorse for re-releasing the recently finished series in these Omnibus style books. For new readers, this series is best enjoyed a little at a time, and NOT to be read through voraciously; some of the later chapters do feel a little drawn out, but there's drama, comedy, romance, cute-ness, and slice of life in the series. There is some action but that takes a back seat to the real meat of the story: The Characters. Now all we need is for Berserk to receive the Omnibus treatment. Happy Reading!
Edit: I erroneously stated that the 1st few pages are glossy and colored; this is incorrect; The 1st few pages of EACH Volume [that is, the 3 present in this omnibus] are glossy and colored. An even better surprise once I got to them.

Oh My Goddess! Omnibus Book Two introduces the third of the Goddess sisters--the youngest, Skuld. It seems Keiichi's life wasn't complicated enough with Belldandy's magic and Urd's potions, so now Skuld is here with her personal form of weirdness--engineering! No sooner has she arrived at Nekomi Tech than Skuld appoints Keiichi's own little sister Megumi to be her arch-rival, and challenges her to a robot battle...to the death? Plus, as a special bonus, the universe will be destroyed when the superstring holding together existence is cut by a ten-dimensional scythe...unless the Goddesses can stop it. But that's just another day on campus in this manga!

Alright, this final volume was FANTASTIC! Sad 2 see this series come 2 an end. Then again, all good things must come 2 a conclusion. Nice 2 see Keiichi & Belldandy (after all of the years & sexual tension) finally get married! Thought that they should 1/2 kept Urd & Shohei as a couple! Still, I liked this comic book series.

I expected the final chapters to have a bit more of a kick than this. I though the final volume would have been a bit more special. No color pages, and the wedding ceremony was a bit of a let down. Belldandy's final words were quite significant, though.

Beautiful treatment of an old manga series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 12, 2015Verified Purchase
My copy of this just arrived and it is even better than I thought it would be.
The print is detailed and not too heavy, the colour illustrations are interspersed naturally and the colour is good, the binding seems durable. It's just a lovely book even if you ignore the actual manga content.
I only read this years ago in flopped public library copies before, and now... ah my goddess, it's so beautiful!

I really like Fujishima's artwork. You can see how he improves from the early issues (which I would rate as average) to the more precise and detailed drawings on the later issues (which are really really good). I had a lot of the original Dark Horse comics, but did not have a complete collection. When I saw these omnibus books, I saw the opportunity to have a complete set.
Artwork is really great, although the stories are not really that funny...but the art makes it worthwhile (at least to me).
These omnibus books are really good (with the original artwork using Japanese reading orientation)...and really inexpensive.

Not a firework ending, but a softly blown kiss in the wind.

Everything about this manga feels a bit stretched, storywise, but it's the end of this series and the only thing that is left for us fans is to relish in this last chapter of our favorite goddesses and Kosuke Fujishima's wonderfull art. To see where he began and to compare it with where he is today, with this art, is amazing.
