About the Author
Marty S. Dalton is a spoken word poet and novelist from Chicago, IL. With hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, his spoken word has also been featured nationally on NPR and Moody Radio. His first novel, Captain Tomahawk and the Sky-Lion, is a steampunk adventure with a poetic metaphor that sets it apart as the anti-Y/A story—where innocence is not lost, but found. Most have titles filled with intentional misspellings that drive the reader to think before accessing artistry of the poem. You will love this book and look forward to the next one and finally, like another reviewer has written, you will read the poems over and over, perhaps to friends who will join in their delight. My favorite? "I and My Muther, Wunn."
I think all of his poems are beautiful. My personal favorite is Propane Poets.
When I received this book, it came in within just over a week. It was in very good condition, very little wear. All the pages were crisp and clean and the cover was flat with no bends in the corners.
If you like poetry, I highly recommend this book; it will not disappoint you.
Watch it, live it, commit it to memory.
I ordered his book shortly thereafter and it has become a further testament of this poet's true gift.
Marty's poems are raw and organic. It's like he cut open his soul and these poems spilled out. His work is exquisite and the visual journey he takes you on, even when reading in your own head's voice, is spectacular.
Kudos to Marty - I look forward to many more publications from this talented artist.
It does not dissapoint. I am excited to read the rest of their stuff.
