The size of this camping stove is great for backpacking if you want something light and small that can save space. I took the recommendation of another commenter and paired it with the Alpine Stowaway Pot 775 ml. This camping stove fits perfectly inside it. The double wall design of the top of the camp stove I think makes this little stove act pretty much like a rocket stove where the fuel should burn very well and quickly. Keep in mind, because it does it should heat up things quickly but you'll likely also burn through your kindling quickly. So I'd recommend having a nice little pile stacked up.

If you're looking to stuff the camp stove into something like a camping cooking pot, then the diameter you'll need is slightly over 5 1/4" or about 5 3/8". The height you'll need is at least 3". The height of the Alpine 775ml is only 2 1/2" for the pan, so some might wonder how it fits. But the lid recesses about 3/8" about the rim of the pot when placed on the pot. So it is a tight fit, but it fits and you can lock the cover on.

I also have a little Pathfinder School 64oz Stainless Steel Bush Pot cooking kit. If you're wanting something a little bit bigger, so that you can cook for more than 1 person at a time, then you might want to consider pairing it with something like this. The inside diameter of it is 5 5/16" and this little camp stove fits the diameter of that like a glove! Any tighter on the inside diameter and it won't fit inside. The bush pot also gives me about 2 1/4" above the camp stove to stick other items in the top of the pot. It also has a smaller side handle, a pour spout and a pail type of handle so you can hang it over a fire also. I've seen numerous similar ones like it on Amazon.

But overall great little camping stove for backpacking.

Excellent minimalist camp stove. I ordered this specifically for an 8 day backpacking trip through the desert where there is not much firewood and saving weight was important. The stove gets started almost immediately and very efficiently burns wood. I’ve only used it with wood so far but I imagine it would work fine with fuel as well, it even comes with a piece for alcohol. I mainly used it to boil water for coffee and to warm up dinners/my hands.

As some other reviews state, you will have to feed the stove a decent amount, but since you will likely only be using a stove like this for boiling water or a small cook fire, it really isn’t an issue. Plus the small amount of wood you do put in goes a very long way. I didn’t have any issues with airflow but if you plan to keep the stove going for a long time I guess just make sure there’s enough room underneath for the ash to fall without piling up too much (I dug a bit to make sure during my fires).

Cleanup is easy too since the wood is burned to completion, just give the metal a few minutes to cool down and you can shake out any remaining ash. The stove itself is collapsible and comes with a mesh bag. No complaints at all.

Amazing design. Colapses much smaller than the solo and $45 cheaper! I couldn't make one out of cans cheaper than this considering time and tools and it wouldn't be close to his beautifully made this is.

Great product at a great price. Works well. Be sure to let the wood really burning well with very little smoke or you will soot up your cookpot fast.
Old Boy Scout trick that works is to put a thin coat of soap on exterior of the pot before cooking . Soot will come off easily for clean up.

This stove is a splendid tool. I have ordered several for people I know that live part of their lives outdoors. Small, fairly lightweight, amazingly efficient, all users of this need some knowledge of how a TLUD stove operates, it is not intuitive. Once explained, it is quick and easy to operate. I carry one in my truck, one at home, and one in my backpack. Fuel can be found almost anywhere. Love this thing!

Good value alternative to some of the other stoves out there selling for 3x the price. Customer service is also awesome. Only issue would be the item packaging. The box was crushed so if you are gifting it, it wouldnt look as good. Otherwise good value product.

It originally came with bent stands but ohuhu quickly got in touch with me and remedied the situation and now my stove is in pristine working condition

Does it light and will it boil water or allow you to cook on? Yes, but it will take some effort maybe more than nessecary.

It came quickly and in good shape.

I had no problem starting the stove or keeping it going but you will have some issues putting more sticks in when the pan is on. Also the stove gets hungry fast so be prepared to keep filling it constantly to keep it going smooth.

Would I buy another one? No. But I would buy one of the same style but with the higher chimney that would allow for better feeding of fuel.

The packability is real nice and you could use an alcohol stove in wet conditions without issue as well.
