The morning after....
It's 8 degrees out and 49 degrees in. The only parts of me that are warm are my hands (that hold the coffee mug) and my feet (that sport the Old Friends). I strode from the bed to the French Press with a steady, composed, easy, gait. No acrobatics or impromptu interpretive dance moves. The slippers have loosened up a drop. I expect they'll loosen a little bit more and I'll soon be able to put them on without using a hand to steady their sterns. If they do, super. If they don't, not a problem whatsoever. Again, these are initial impressions. After 12 or so hours I can only speak to their immediate appearance (they look exactly as pictured), comfort and suitability (outstanding in all camps) but given their visible-to-the-eye construction details (the uppers and lowers are glued and sewn together, for instance, plus an overall look and feel of quality materials and careful construction) I suspect these Old Friends will stick around much longer than the ill-fitting bargain-basement eyesores (I'm tight with the lucre but I've come to see that disposable $14 slippers are no bargain) I'd consorted with in the past.
