One very important feature is the foresight of this company to use a removable sheepskin sole liner inside so that you can remove it and wash it in woolite or other mild detergent to freshen it up. And allows you to fluff the knap back up after getting compressed from wearing. And the other feature I like is the ability to roll the top down for a shorter covering of the ankles or extend it up to allow you to tuck your sweats or jammies into them for a nice cozy warmth.
when you first put these on you'll undoubtedly be disappointed.. the length runs short (i'm usually 7-8, and this bootee in an 8 is good, with socks its snug lengthwise), the length issue is obvious with each step-- the shape of the shoe propels your foot forward, the ankle hole is cut very wide and very tall (i have flat feet, so with every step my ankle slips out), the shoe is also very heavy for a slipper, and though the rubber skid-resistant tread is nice, the glue-construction is not durable-- one short jog would break these shoes.
BUT, all that said.. these are soft, warm, comfortable to sit around the house, durable to walk outside a little, and the fuzzy insole is replaceable (and for flat feet, you can add another insert to add arch support and help with the ankle slippage)
stronger glue and adjustable ankle sizing would make this a great slipper.
At first they were very tight, over a few days they have loosened up, but they're still somewhat tight. They seem quite heavy to me, and I prefer light shoes. I guess that's partly the rubber sole, the leather is also thick.
What really annoys me is that as I walk they are pulling my socks down so they end up bunched up inside the shoe. If that keeps up I will be a very unhappy camper. Of course I can't return them any more since I've worn them.
Beware, a return to Amazon because something doesn't fit required me to pay the shipping. Should have bought from zappos - they have them.
