To all of the people that gave this gem such a bad rating...first of all I commend the wonderful actors in this movie! I enjoyed the cerebral intensity and the build up of fear. I have not seen anything this well done in a while. Definitely kept me wondering what really was going on, it's just too bad so many people watched this without digging deeper into the real meaning behind the story. Spoiler alert, I guess it could mean different things to different people depending on how you watched it, but I thought the ending was pretty brilliant! The movie went from this crazy old man living in the woods, to basically fleshing out his whole life and all the mistakes he made. He created his own hell and had to keep reliving it over and over again as punishment. Did everyone really miss this point? Or maybe were just too used to sound bytes of information and brain dead super hero movies that have dumb downed all the entertainment we watch now. This movie has value in that it is almost like a cautionary tale or a fable told in story form. So I guess I would say if you are looking for mindless entertainment, look elsewhere. This one is for people that want to get deeper meaning from good story telling.

Loved this movie where they gave it four stars except I did not like the ending but I still loved and wouldn’t regret it watching it the whole way through because it was just so entertaining the acting was so good that you know what I’m gonna give it four stars anyway because it was just very entertaining to watch and the way they playoff each other and their expressions back-and-forth it’s just too much

I’ve never been a fan of this director, but aside from Stephen Lang’s acting, his directing was the next best thing. I’m not saying that as a slight, as both were superb, but WOW. The plot was predictable from a quarter of the way through, but I kept thinking “there’s gotta be another layer”. There is not. Feels like such a waste. As stated in the subject, this is Secret Window if the entire production and screen writers possess a word that starts with “R”.
