A really excellent knife for hunting and field dressing. Very well made, extremely sharp, nice sturdy and tight handle that feels really good in your hand, providing a nice, comfortable, and sturdy grip! The dark handle with the brass accents and nicely curved blade make it wonderfully appealing. The shape of the blade is a tried and tested shape well suited to field dressing big game animals. Came with a smooth, well made, and classy leather sheath. It is an ideal knife for hunting and I am extremely pleased.

I got what I paid for, this is a good working knife. Its heavy it will do well during camping and such. It has a great size blade, it is full tang, the metal shows as 7Cr17 High Carbon Stainless Steel. It might be something similar to 420HC or the steel some Boker plus knives use. It is not the cheap 400 series steel its just a notch better, it is high in carbon it will retain its edge better but you would need to keep it clean. The derlin handles look very sturdy, the sheath its ok nothing fancy or nice to look at but will serve its purpose. This knife its very similar to the woodsman knife as I ordered both. They are almost the same size blade but the style its a little different. The sheath its exactly the same size. Steel its the same, the Lion has nicer lines but the woodsman looks thicker and that will do better with heavier chores. Its sharp enough out of the box, but did not pass the arm hair shaving test and the paper test barely passed it (you will need to sharpen the blade). I will use a 25 angle on mine. Overall its a good bang for the buck. In my case its more of a sentimental attachment to the brand more than anything.

I wanted to give this knife 4 stars but as I thought of what to write I couldn't come up with a reason to take a star away, for the price.
I had forgotten what the feel of Delrin in the hand was like. It has the feel of a dry bar of soap but not slippery. I like it. The knife is built like a tank. It is no light weight just a good solid knife.
Some say that the quality has gone down on this knife. If you don't have an old one you would have to think the old one was some kind of a super knife because there is nothing wrong with this knife for its price.
If you like this blade design and need a good working knife (skinning knife) this one will do the job at a good price.

blade is wobbly and the grind on the blade is obviously wavy.still a classic design and useful knife but the fit,finish and quality of workmanship on this particular model/knife is less than desirable.this whole shcrade thing is just a sad tragedy.once they went under the patents and blueprints should have went as well.i have others that are good but the last two chinese schrades have been shotty

I ordered this knife on the heels of the 1650T because the product description lists it at 7 inches overall and I wanted a smaller version for everyday carry. It turns out that this is the Mountain Lion which I already had. Had I known this I probably would not have ordered it. That aside, the quality of this knife and sheath is quite impressive and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a good knife at a reasonable price.

I loved this knife until it broke on me.
I was batoning a slab of wood with it . I was batoning the blade with the blade of a machete , metal against metal and the blade broke in half. But other than that It has a cool knife while I had it and sharp too. I like the blade shape. I wish it would have lasted longer but I don't think you should baton metal with metal .
