The 'Ohana sandals are another OluKai classic, made with all-natural materials, making them vegan-friendly.Wet Sand Principle
Inspired by the feeling of bare feet in wet sand, OluKai builds their footwear with anatomically contoured footbeds to deliver the perfect balance of instant comfort and lasting support.
You'll find these contoured footbeds in every product they make. From water-friendly sandals to beach town shoes to upcountry boots, OluKai's footwear is designed to deliver unparalleled comfort from the ground up.
OluKai's anatomical arch support improves comfort and supports the natural contours of the foot. Proper medial and lateral arch support reduces aches and pains, and promotes healthier functioning for superior natural shock absorption and a coiled spring effect in the foot.
The generous toe box allows your toes to spread naturally, like a bare foot in wet sand. The result is better balance, less stress, and increased comfort.
Olukai's heel cup cradles the foot, minimizes side-to-side movement, and provides stability and natural shock absorption. The heel cup centers and aligns the foot to minimize pronation and supination, reduce pressure on the arch, and enhance the body's natural cushioning and bone protection.
The aloha spirit defines the islands- equal parts joyful greeting, respectful blessing, and humble wish. It’s a way of life and a unique sense of warm generosity born of polynesia but not bound by geography. Aloha is Hawaii’s greatest export. Native Hawaiians bring it wherever they venture, and visitors always take aloha home.
Olukai paired three Hawaiians- an explorer, an artist, and a surfer, and three like-minded non-hawaiians on creative and inspiring adventures in far-flung corners of the map to document the spread of the aloha spirit.

Now the bad. I purchased these shoes on July 11th...they didn't even last a MONTH! I wore them often but not daily. It's summer so they were the perfect on-the-go flip flop. August 1st I put them on in the morning and realize they're suddenly flopping more than they're flipping! Turns out, the sole came apart from the footbed. Upon further inspection it looks like the footbed even shrank a bit. I went to web looking for answers and their site mentions something about "shrinking" due to exposure to high heat and/or water abuse.....it's a FLIP FLOP! Am I supposed to wear it in the winter and keep them dry at all times??? It's not like I went swimming with them on or left them in the sun to tan. If they're that fragile maybe we shouldn't be paying $65 for them.
Update 6/27/16: As you can see, I loved these shoes when I got them. Everything I said above stands except that one of the shoes fell apart yesterday. The bottom sole separated from the rest of the shoe, rendering it unwearable. At this price, I expect the shoe to last way longer than 2 months. Unfortunately, this happened 19 days after the return window closed so I am unable to return them. At a cost of nearly $70 and a lifespan of less than 2 months, these shoes are definitely not worth the money.
*** UPDATE: MY PAIN IS GONE!!!
It's now been almost a month since I purchased these shoes. I have been wearing them almost exclusively except for a few cold days we had recently. My plantar fasciitis pain is gone. GONE! I've suffered with it since last summer and even had a steroid shot in November. My feet haven't felt this good in years. It's that first step out of bed in the morning that is the test and I PASS EVERY DAY! I put my foot down gingerly because I am so used to the pain but it's not there any more!
You wouldn't think it by looking at them but they are supportive and man, what a difference it makes. After wearing other shoes on those cold days, I had a bit of pain again but once back in these it was gone in a day or so. Now, I just pray they can keep up with the wear and tear I plan on giving them this summer! I am going to buy another color to alternate with but let me just say I AM IN LOVE WITH THESE SHOES!!!
*** UPDATE NUMBER TWO:
It's now October and yes, I've been literally wearing these shoes every day (thankfully it's warm here in New Orleans with the exception of a few days a year) and I still love them. NO PAIN AT ALL! It's gone! Afraid to think about 'winter' shoes. Searching Amazon right now for an 'everyday' pair. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
