This is by far my favorite protein powder I have had and won't use another after this! I used to use Spirulina Chocolate protein powder and after using this one I prefer the taste far more. This would be good for anyone that wants to use it as a part of a healthy diet, for training for an athlethic event or just the average person, like me that is active and wants to maintain energy level and maintain weight. This powder has 25g. of protein which is about 10grams more than most and only 3grams of carbs and no sugar. I prefer to make it with 8oz. unsweetened Vanilla almond milk, a half a frozen banana (or 1/4cup of frozen strawberries, blueberries etc), and 1/4 cup of spinach leaves. It is delicious (like a treat, really) and you feel great after drinking this- more energy and a great pick-me-up in afternoon or to get going in the a.m. without feeling weighed down. And with the extra grams of protein I stay full longer than other drinks! I think the key is to have it very cold, which is why I use frozen fruit. Also, make sure to mix very well, I use my single serve cup with my Ninja mixer but I am sure anything similar will be fine. I have found the best price at Vitacost- it is the same as on Amazon but when I place my 49$ order along with my other vitamins/skincare products I get free shipping. Enjoy!

I have been using Olympian Labs Chocolate Pea Protein for about a year now. On average I have 2 shakes per day. I am allergic to Whey protein so I was glad to discover the Olympian Labs Chocolate Pea Protein. While I feel the taste of pea protein pales in comparison to Whey I will say that I found OL's Chocolate Pea Protein to be the best tasting pea/vegetarian protein product out there.

Unfortunately however they have recently reformulated this product and the end result is not good. First of all the taste has totally changed for the worse. It tastes nothing like the original formula. The original formula had a decent chocolate taste (considering this is pea protein). The chocolate taste of new formula is very bland and chalky.

Second the sodium content jumped from 340mg (which I feel is still a bit too high) to 460mg per serving. Once you add it to some almond milk you are looking at close to 600mg. of sodium per shake. I would like to see the sodium content down around 200mg per serving max. Not sure why they have to add so much sodium.

The Original Formula was - Pea Protein Isolate, Xylitol, Natural Flavor, Cocoa, Stevia, and Salt

The New Formula is - Pea Protein Isolate, Carmellose, Natural Chocolate Flavor, Stevia, Salt, Silicon Dioxide

Not sure why they went from using Cocoa to "Natural Chocolate Flavor". This may explain why the new formula doesn't have much of a chocolate taste at all. I can also do without the new additions of Carmellose and Silicon Dioxide.

The texture is different as well. The powder is very fine and tends to create a small dust cloud when you are pouring it out of the scoop.

This is the best protein powder I have ever used. Not only does it taste great, but it blends well with water or milk (I'm using unsweetened almond milk). You can add anything to it and it still tastes great!(So far I've blended it with spinach & banana & both were great.) It fills me up & I'm not hungry again for hours. I really like that is powder is not sweet. I sweeten it with Stevia when I want it a bit sweeter but it tastes great on its own. It is Non GMO and that is another big plus! Also it is only 130 calories/scoop & you only need 1 scoop per 8oz of liquid. I actually add 12oz of liquid total as I find it to thick with just 8oz but I have friends who just use 8oz & they love the consistency. . Give it a try. I bet you'll love it too!

There aren't that many protein powder options for vegans except for pea and soy. After using soy for awhile, I decided to try this out on a recommendation, and found that I prefer the taste and consistency of pea protein over soy. It mixes better in my smoothies, and makes me feel better.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would taste. It would fill me up some after I consumed a shake. Not entirely sold on drinking this very often. The vitamin shoppe people also explained these shakes have high sodium. The flavor wasn't bad, just thick. It arrived on time. The vanilla was fine too. I think I'm going to give these a try again. According to the health food shoppe this is the better brand and this seller is selling at a great price via Amazon Prime.

I dont know what everyone is complaining about. The formula breaks up easily, I use it in water and/or milk. The taste is medium on the chocolate level. I didnt find it chalky. I specifically needed Pea protein for this stupid diet called the fast metabolism diet and got sick of meat.

This review will be for the chocolate and vanilla (since I bought both at the same time and use them alternately). Overall I feel the nutritious quality of the product is on point and I getting a nice serving of pea protein, however, I do agree with other reviewers that it is chalky and the chocolate did not taste chocolaty. But nothing was so bad to the point where I could not tolerate drinking it. I feel that by adding pea protein to my meal regiment, I am getting the health boost I expect from a protein powder, so I get over the taste pretty easily. I was giving the a 3 stars (it's okay) but decided to give it an extra star for the price benefit.
