This 40-150 lens is a jewel. It is very light and very sharp if used at f5.6. It compares extremely well with its big brother (50-200), except in contrast which I can correct with software. It matches the E-PL series cameras very well in size and weight and with the 14-42 makes a perfect travel companion, especially for hiking.
Sharp Images(like most zoom lenses, it has it sweet spots)
A great value at the sub $300 price
Zoom ring not as fluid as some zoom lenses I have used
Not great for indoor / low light (does not claim to be)
I use this lens 90% of the time and believe it to be a great all around zoom lens.
The lens itself is EXTREMELY light, weights the same almost as my pancake. when zoomed out though gets very long. At 150mm its not the camera that's a problem, just my ability to hold it steady without a tripod. The lens feels well made when zooming and focusing the lens, but at times you will get by the, it feels plastic cheap. Let me assure you though, that nothing is plastic cheap about it, the zoom is firm and well made, not loose at all. the fit onto the camera is perfect, and picture quality is superb! for a budget lens this is a GREAT starter zoom lens to start off with. I would buy it again for this price!
The quality is very good and I think it'll stay on my camera way more often than the 14-42mm, (when I need wider angles I suppose I'll have no choice, not that 14-42mm is a bad lens or anything.
I was afraid of a larger, bulkier lens but this one is just perfect.
Shooting at the 150mm end is a bit difficult due to the narrow angle and REQUIRES a tripod, but for the msot part the other zooms are perfectly capable of capturing everything I need.
Extremely small and lightweight - I knew it and still was surprised by the size of this lens
Looks good on my E-PL2
Nothing really. Although I wish the lens had a larger aperture.
Amazing lens and great bargain.

This lens does not interact well with the Olympus OM-D E-M10. The electronic focus becomes horribly pixelated often and when it does work, it's very very slow. Read morePublished 9 months ago by K. Bice
I've had this and tried it out abroad for a little over a month. I can say that this lens is great! It's not so long that you constantly get image stabilization problems, but it's... Read morePublished 14 months ago by Thalia Garcia
This is a cheap lens, with a wide zoom range. It's slow -- but it doesn't have most of the other problems expected in such lenses. I find it remarkably sharp and crisp. Read morePublished 17 months ago by David Dyer-Bennet
This lens is surprisingly good for the price. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how many "keepers" I get when I shoot with this lens. Read morePublished 24 months ago by Amazon Customer

I got it during special, though you need to stop down a bit to get better sharpness, Other wise the picture quality is not bad, I found it is sharper than the Panasonic 14-140mm... Read morePublished on February 16, 2014 by N Tan
