The user guide states that the speaker will play for about 6 hours on a full charge, although the product description says up to 8 hours. After charging the speaker overnight, I paired it and started music playing from iHeartRadio. With the speaker playing at about 50% of maximum volume, it ran for almost 9 hours, when I turned it off.
About the splashproof and shockproof claims: I don't see an International Protection Marking code listed in the product description, but "Splashproof" implies an IP4 level of protection against water (freshwater, actually), so that's how I tested the speaker (see accompanying video), and it passed. Regarding the shockproof claim, the speaker is in what appears to be a high-impact plastic case with a rubberized band around it. I didn't try bouncing it off a wall or anything, but it appears to be solidly built and would take normal abuse.
The user guide indicates that the Bluetooth range is 10 meters (33 feet). However, it recommends that the distance not exceed 5 meters, with no solid walls between the source and the speaker. In my own tests, on line-of-sight, I was getting some dropouts at around 15 feet, and even a bit less range with a wall between the speaker and my Kindle Fire.Read more ›
This little speaker gives you the option. It is rugged and ideal for outdoors. It comes with a handy strap, and everything you need to charge it up and then take it outdoors for wireless use. I had a chance to try out one of these units for the purpose of a review. I’ve owned a lot of bluetooth speakers, but I really like this one for its compact, portable, rugged and accessible design.
It hooks up via Bluetooth to my iPhone. Just press and hold the on button, and you’ll hear a voice saying: “waiting for bluetooth connection.” Then you have to turn on bluetooth on your phone, tablet or computer, and look for the Omaker M3 device name to show up. Select that, and it connects right away. The speaker will confirm that by saying “Bluetooth successfully connected.”
It’s also set up for NFC connection, but I don’t have a phone or device that has that so I haven’t been able to test it.
The sound is pretty good for such a small speaker. It can get quite loud, and it’s clear and strong. It’s not high fidelity, and won’t please audiophiles. I detect a little bit of noise, but it’s only barely noticeable. The bass is pretty good, but I think it sounds better with mid range and high notes. Still, it’s much better and much bigger than you’d get from the phone alone.
It’d be a great speaker for camping or any outdoor activities — especially those where you’d be worried about splashing and inclement weather. Ideal for the poolside or the beach or for hiking where it might rain. (It isn’t water proof. There’s a cover for the USB and 3.5mm audio inputs, but it wouldn’t protect them if you immersed it in the water. Also: the grid that covers the speaker will protect from the occasional splash or light rain but would certainly leak if it went under.)
First off... I bought this for $20 ($10 off coupon code, that's what put it over the top for the 4 stars, at $30 it'd be 3 stars).
Pretty good! For a small, single speaker the sound is really good actually. Loud enough to fill a little bed room, or small dorm room... obviously just a bit of bass, but actually more than I'd imagined when I first saw it.
This thing is small.... best way for me to describe it is... imagine a square drink coaster (a real stone/cork one, not a cheap paper thing!), now picture about 3-4 of those stacked up, and bam, that's how big this lil thing is.
I haven't worn the battery all the way down yet, I've recharged a couple times before it emptied. With a full charge I've gone 6 hours with a mix of music and podcasts, and it would've kept on going. I'm guessing the advertised 8 hours is is pretty accurate.
I've had plenty of rugged electronics (I tend to be rough on stuff :) )... and I *think* this feels ok... just weird, it feels more like a suft plastic than a hard rubber to me, I dunno. I have no reason to doubt it yet, but mmmm I'm not 100% sold on it surviving more than a few feet drop.
Splash proofiness: I've had this thing hanging in the shower wher ti got a bit wet and had no issues... I'm quite sure it's up to the test for anything other than a straight up soaking.
1. The buttons are kind of hard to press - and I'm never sure about the "feedback" feeling... at first I thought the battery was dead because it wouldn't turn on... then I realized just push it a bit harder and there it goes.

This speaker is very light and seems to completely water resistant. However, my Galaxy Note 3 is louder than this thing. Volume is too weak to be heard over the shower. Read morePublished 12 months ago by A. G. Cynecki
