Exactly what I expected. I kept it in the fridge (stuck it in there overnight before I opened it), and used a butter knife to chunk off size I needed anytime I used. No mess this way. Does take up bit of space in fridge because of size- but I soon got accustomed to it always having its "spot". Worked great in EVERY recipe I replaced butter or vegetable oil in. Cookies, pancakes, bread, brownies, pasta sauces, etc, etc, etc. I also used it in place of butter on top of veggie sides w/dinner. As a HUGE butter fan my whole life, I expected being disappointed with it on potatoes and corn and broccoli. But was not! In fact, after about a month of no butter in the house, I decided to be bad- and bought some to spoil myself a little- and I actually found I Disliked the taste of the BUTTER on my veggies at this point! What a surprise! So to trade bad cholesterol for good, potentially prevent/postpone Alzheimer's for my kids, husband and I (as it runs in our familys)- it is hands down 5 stars. Was excellent product, well packaged, shipped fast, shipped free, was exactly what I wanted and then some. Im giving it 4 stars because I came back to order again, as I'm 3/4 of the way done- and the price has gone up from $36 when I ordered it, to $45 today. Huge price hike since I ordered on 7/9/12. I'll watch for price to go back down- or will order somewhere else.

I had tried this brand before and use it for all cooking. I like it and therefore ordered 2 tubs. Unfortunately, the delivery from Omega Nutrition was a nightmare. I had placed the order on 11/16 but got them only on 12/8. The order took 22 days!!! I wrote to Amazon who forwarded my query about the order to Nutrition Omega.
First Omega Nutrition Emailed me that they were out of the Tubs of coconut oil. Then later, that they had no control over the shipping. They asked me to write and/or call them. I did both, called 4 times but the person who had asked me to call was not available! Then she thought I had already received the order. Why then would I still be trying to call her and Email her about the order??
I am of course upset at how I was treated. It is only courtesy to inform the buyer of the delay and the reason for it. It is time for me to try another brand of coconut oil.

I bought two containers of this and highly suggest it for anyone looking for bulk coconut oil for themselves and certain types of pets. I take some orally daily and my dogs get some on their treats daily. Its great for skin, immune systems, digestion, vitamin absorption and tons of other things in people and pets. Its got antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti fungal, anti parasitic properties which basically makes this oil a cure all type of natural medicine. Used in combination with oregano it can actually cure staph infections 40% better than ANY antibiotic on the market. Please read about that more online if you're interested. Anyway each bucket is roughly 7lbs of pure virgin coconut oil that has been stripped of any odor or taste making it a great product to use in cooking, baking etc. I looked all over the net and amazon for the best bang for my buck and this was it for $33/7lbs approx. I got free shipping so i ended up buying two buckets to keep me set for a bunch of months this year. Great buy and best deal anywhere for this amount of oil. Highly Suggested!

I bought this product because I wanted to replace olive oil in my cooking. I have purchased scented virgin coconut oil but found that it gave a coconutty taste to my food. When I received this unscented processed coconut oil, I was skeptical about whether I was getting the same health benefits from this stuff. I called the hotline on the label and I spoke with a very helpful customer service representative, who relieved my doubts. She told me that if I was taking coconut oil to stave off Alzheimer's disease, I should look for a scented version. She said that something about the smell has been shown to alleviate that condition. However, if I am taking it because of the lauric acid or medium chain triglycerides, then it is identical to using scented virgin coconut oil. YES!! Who wouldn't want to replace their cooking oil with the only fat that eats other fat? She also assured me that they use steam instead of nasty chemicals in their expelling process. I'm not a scientist but these answers satisfied me. I will continue cooking with this product -- the largest and cheapest in the market as far as I've seen -- for as long as it's available.

I have been using coconut oil on my skin for about one year. The trick to using coconut oil on your skin is that you must continue using so your skin becomes conditioned. Once your skin becomes conditioned, it literally drinks the coconut oil when applied to your skin. I was using another brand of organic coconut oil and it was much heavier and greasier. It took longer for my skin to absorb once applied. The Omega Organic Coconut Oil is unscented, is very light and feels like silk being applied to my skin. I use the coconut oil on my entire body; including my face. I have extremely sensitive skin and this has been a great find for me.

Plus, coconut oil is just so good for you. After buying the 32 oz container of this product at my local health food store every other week...I figured it was time to splurge on the big tub. The price is excellent. It's aroma/taste free, which is awesome. No complaints from the hubby. One thing to note...when I received it, it was almost totally liquid. Must have been sitting in a hot delivery truck (I got it in August). So just something to check when you get it. All I had to do was clear some room in my fridge to harden it for 24 hours, and it was good to go.
