She grew up on Pro Gold, but since they went away, we've been searching for a good food with less fillers. Since she's such a pig, she eats a lot, so we also needed a reasonably price pellet. Omega One fits the bill.
While she would eat some of the other stuff we've tried, she wasn't as enthusiastic as she is with the Omega One. She gobbles them up like mad!!!
We haven't had any problems with this clouding the water, but we always soak our pellets a few before feeding them to her, and we only give her what she will eat right away and never let uneaten food sit at the bottom of a tank - they become dirty bombs.
This container is small enough that it made it an easy decision to give it a try. Like I said though, we'll be buying the larger pellets next time.
Like they do naturally in the wild..... Makes sense right?
Is there another fish pellet with all these ingredients, excluding the two fish species that goldfish shouldn't be eating.
I mean with a little extra effort you could crush up crickets and make that into a protein additive too right?
who thought oh! goldfish naturally just gobble up other giant species of fish, and added that instead.
Aside from that, it is the next best size up for my fish. Hell he looks to be enjoying it so oh well.
Don't know if it affects the color or not, my gold fish akways looks good. One of my moors did turn golden though while the other moore is 100% solid black.
I would also suggest soaking the pellets in water if you have small size fish or if you are transitioning fish from size small pellets.
