Without giving a spoiler, I would like to have seen Jake be even a tiny bit angry with Liam at something he did in the story. Instead, it was pretty much forgiven and not mentioned. If he had always been the shy, never sass off kind of omega, then I'd assume it was just his omega nature. But, he had some spunk and fiest that showed up in other areas, just not here.
The chemistry between Liam and Jake was amazing though. It lended a lot to the story. As I was reading, I was thinking "this might be a 5 star book", then I got to the end and thought "what, this is the end?" I was not prepared for a cliffhanger to something the reader had been teased about learning all throughout the book. That being the case, due to it being so well-written, I am now invested in the series and look forward to learning more about their complete love story.
I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What the Heck. I don’t want to wait to find out what happens. Lol.
So. Besides the Cliffhanger I am kind of conflicted about this book. I felt like it was kind of missing chunks of the book that should have been explained. But.... Maybe we will get explanations for missing parts in book two?? Idk. It might also just be the Authors way of keeping us strung along. And well, if that’s the case, it worked. lol. The book and this series has a Lot of potential though. I think I can see vaguely where it is headed and I hope it is all revealed in book two. Overall it was ok though. First time reading this Author, & won’t be the last.
Alpha Liam meets Omega Jake during a scavenger hunt. The prize is a weekend at a spa resort. They start off this book trying to hate each other. Without giving too much away, this book goes from Hating. To wanting. To taking. To running away. To coming back together. To the end. Missing parts of what happened In Jakes past to bring him to Roselake? And what is he Hiding? Why Does Liam have such reservations about Omegas and relationships? And why won’t he tell Jake? And there’s a few smaller twists in the book that seem to be continuing into book two.
ღ✿•*¨So, I don't even know what to say. I was not totally excited, but I was not at the point where I was so annoyed that I had to DNF. I just needed to know where these two were going. Then I reached the end and...
Hear me roar. Now I was annoyed. A cliffhanger!!! No, just plain no. I had to roll my eyes each time "the omega" or "the alpha" hit the page, which was A LOT! But now, I got a cliffhanger? I am one of those people who need to know I am actually getting a HFN, with a part two coming soon so that I can be prepared. This book already felt rushed, and suspensful with too many things not being said. And now the waiting game begins.
I liked the concept. I could get the animosity between the two MCs. But I need more to decide just which way this scale will tilt. Today, I am hanging on and upgrading to 3 stars, firstly because it was not just an ok story, and secondly, there was something there that kept me reading on. So, I will wait for book two and carry on.
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
