It's a solid story, however I would have liked it better if the idea element dominated. Although the idea was explored in sufficient detail, it's a big enough idea that it could have been explored at greater length. Fortunately, the story provides enough background on Teilhard de Chardin's thought that interested readers can explore the subject further.
As an action story, Omegasphere, succeeds, however I felt that the dialog could have been condensed in order to move the story along faster. I also felt the conclusion gave too broad a hint regarding the hero's future. I prefer stories that conclude with a degree of uncertainty about future events. A bit of uncertainty leaves readers with something to ponder.
For such a short book, there is a surprising amount of depth to the characters.
And the story is amazing. It's original and very thought-provoking.
My only complaint is the ending—it ends very "abruptly".
But other than that, Omegasphere is one of the most entertaining reads in recent memory.
Can't wait to read more books from the author. :)
Omegasphere is a well written, fast paced, and fun thrill ride. I loved the science behind the story, the characters fighting to save humanity, and the fast paced action.
I highly recommend Omegasphere to readers of Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, or Isaac Asimov.
