Omitted Pieces: A Young Adult Sci-Fi Novel (Transformed Nexus Book 2) Kindle Edition

In the year 2164, the World Government has extended communication to Planet Scepter but has yet to enforce any rules which makes it the perfect spot for Cromwell.

Instead of Sierra's father he now holds her mother. In order to save her, Sierra will need to make new friends in this place of glowing leaves and a floating capital.

Back on Vortex, Al's shut down the old facility but will he be able to make it to Scepter? What about those who made it to Earth? Can they all work together or are they closer to danger than they realize?

The amazing conclusion to the Transformed Nexus duology, Omitted Pieces, explores new territory and old with dangerous compassion.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Omitted Pieces is the second installment of the Transformed Nexus duology by Stephanie Hansen, which concludes the series in a fast-paced whirlwind of non-stop action. Following up on the events from the previous book, Vienna is on a trans-planetary mission to save her mother and long-lost brother, who have been taken by the evil leader Cromwell to play roles in his warped plan to reassemble his own family. On another planet, Vienna's clone, Sierra, recruits her own alliances to aid in Vienna's mission. Al can't stand being separated from his girlfriend, but he must keep secrets from her as he goes on his own secret mission to leave Vortex and rescue Vienna's brother. Planets apart, the three of them must find a way to work together for their common goal.

Without beating around the bush, Omitted Pieces jumps right into action, and it doesn't stop until the very last page. Stephanie Hansen has brought back the majority of old characters in addition to new and unique characters who are introduced as three different stories happen all at once. The perspective shifts between Vienna, Sierra, and Al are easy to follow, and it is fun to see how their stories intersect and build on one another. With just the right mixture of science fiction and action/adventure, I love the unexpected twists and mysteries that the characters encounter. The way that the multiple dystopian worlds come together on their adventures is unpredictable, and it is all wrapped up with an unforeseen yet satisfying conclusion." -Reviewed By Amy Powers for Readers' Favorite

"
A fast, intense, action-packed YA read...
Hansen concludes the Transformed Nexus duology with this entertaining, imaginative installment. It is 2164. Sierra is in a new body and on a new planet with a new problem. Cromwell, the mad scientist, has kidnapped Sierra's mother and is running a shop on Scepter, a strange planet with floating cities. Sierra must find new allies if she wants to save her mother. Meanwhile AI is trying to make it to Scepter. Hansen's characterization is thorough, and her SF world, with its infiltrating secret facilities, deadly technology, and telepathic violence, still exhibits hope. The emotional core of the story exists in the marvelously understated relationship between its protagonists. The chapters alternate between Sierra, Vienna, and AI, keeping readers invested as tiny details connect them back to the first volume. Hansen delivers gripping action while deepening mysteries in crisp prose, and ties up all the loose threads nicely as the story ends. This adrenaline-pumping SF tale, with its relevant themes of family, friendship, courage, love, and resilience makes for a page-turner." The Prairies Book Review
