I paired this with a sonoff smart switch to control my gas fireplace. Works great. I taped the relay to the sonoff with electrical tape. Then wired up the coil to the sonoff. I soldered those on the relay coil and put heat shrink on them to cover them. I made a couple wires with connectors on them to connect the NO contacts to the solenoid wires for the gas. That self generates current from the pilot light. I put an extra deep 'old-work' box next to the existing switch and wired 120V to the sonoff. It's a tight fit, but it fits. Put a blank out plate on the old-work box. It works like a charm. I can now use alexa to turn my fire place on and off. I left the existing switch as a master switch so when I go on vacation I can turn that off. I can always kill the gas though at the valve right in the unit so it's not that big a concern. I also put a manual override switch which I drilled right into the blank out plate to turn on the fire place in case electric goes out (storm/trees down etc..) and I need heat.

I glued it to a board. Using it to open my garage door. (remote function quit working). Manual button still opens door. Using this relay to jump my manual button wires. Activating the relay, with a wireless Christmas Display remote setup. 110 V ac setup. DPDT. 2 circuits, normally off. Or, normally on. Activating the Christmas unit, closes the relay, which activates the Garage Door Motor. This has a short range, when the door is closed. Have to get real close (2 ft) to open the door. It was fun building this unit. It is a simple setup.
