Jeremy Thaler and Constance Potter shared a common belief in the importance of herbal supplements, worker-owned cooperatives, organic and sustainable farming and the power of community. Upon moving to Rochester, New York, they established a whole-grain bakery that also produced granola using a barrel roaster. A chance question from a friend, “You have a barrel roaster; why don’t you use it to make peanut butter?” led Jeremy to the peanut butter business. In 1976, Once Again Nut Butter was born. When Jeremy and Connie left Rochester for a more rural area, they moved the company into their 800-square foot basement and manufactured peanut butter there until they purchased the current facility in 1981. Today, Once Again remains committed to sustainability, and continues to produce superior products for its customers.

You’d seriously never know this has no sugar added. So tasty and naturally sweet. I had gestational diabetes and craved sweets but had to stick to high protein/ low carb. This saved me! I ate a spoonful here and there as a treat. Yum.

The texture is definitely thicker and stickier than regular skippy-style peanut butter. But similar to those natural peanut butters (less greasy though.)

I ordered this cashew butter to make date cashew fudge. The jar that I got was rancid …as I’ve had cashew and nut butter many times. I emailed the company through Amazon and they immediately sent a replacement! This nut butter was perfection and tasted exactly how it should taste. Customer service for Once Again Cashew butter is top notch! I couldn’t recommend this company and their cashew butter more!!! And the salted date/cashew butter fudge was sublime! Thank you, as I will be a repeat customer!!!

Only roasted cashews and sunflower seed oil. No peanuts. There does exist out there some product that mixed cashew & peanut or cashew and almond. I like all these. But when I buy cashew butter, I want only cashews. I like sunflower oil. There are both refined and unrefined. Refined has just that teasing hint of the taste of sunflower. Unrefined has a strong sunflower taste. I actually enjoy both oils, depending on mood and purpose. In this product the sunflower oil is refined (even if it doesn't say so). SO, punchline: you DO get CASHEW and essentially ONLY cashew taste (with OK maybe a teensy tiny hint of sunflower). Why not 5 stars, though? BECAUSE this is not the sweetest cashew butter. I'm not talking sweet like candy, but the cashew is inherently a sweet nut as well as being creamy or buttery (not as butter as pine nuts though, which are actually seeds; go for those if you want very buttery in a "nut".). I have had another cashew butter and I can't recall the brand. It was so good that I suggested it be included in the last meal of... but never mind. It's not COVID & taste. I haven't found that very best cashew butter for many years now. Cashew nuts themselves vary a lot. For example Karr's has THE WORST cashews I've ever had. Totally lacking in the sweetness note. Yes you recognize the nut not just by its shape, but yes the flavor, but no sweetness in a Karr's cashew. So I figure something similar is going on here, but not as bad as Karr's. There is some sweetness to this cashew butter; there is no drowning out cashew flavor from the sunflower oil; it's just I long for that very sweet (I mean within nuts, not compared to candy) taste that IS possible in cashew butter. Finally, it's trivial yes, but the label is so cute. I happen to like racoons; they move their hands so very gracefully. They're ballet dancers compared to human's more ballistic motions. So I like the racoon on the label. Bottom line: you want cashew only taste, this product gives you that. Like any nut butter without additives, oil separation will occur, but unless you go for a couple months the cashew butter won't go hard on you. It is quite pleasant, if not the ultimate rich sweetness I still long for (and used to have) in cashew butter.

This is the second jar of cashew butter I’ve bought on Amazon. The first was soft and creamy. But this one! As soon as I opened it I saw a difference! There was a huge amount of nut oil surrounding a core of VERY HARD nut butter. When I took it all out of the jar to mix it, it was like mixing a large very dense baked nut cookie.
I contacted the vendor but all I got in response were crickets. And of course Amazon doesn’t take back food items. 😖😖
