Ryder and Sabine are thrown together and then separated and we get to learn a whole lot more about what drives Dr. Wyatt. Ryder and Sabine were bonded and while their love was central to the story, it made even less sense to me than Cain and Eve. I could see their attraction and how they would be interested in each other, but true love? Nope. Discounting that, Ryder and Sabine's backgrounds were fascinating and the story itself is exciting and fast paced. It's definitely a fun read and I can't wait for Cassie and Dante's story.
I just have one question though, what the hell has happened to Trace? I will be ridiculously disappointed if that story isn't tied up.
He is a prisoner within Genesis and so is Sabine. Wyatt is doing experiments on them. Sabine's first is to be killed by Ryder to see if she burns. She does. She is a phoenix and Ryder is upset for having killed her and making her burn. She had no idea she wasn't human. Ryder loves the taste of her and becomes obsessed with her. Wyatt has her moved to another facility.
When Genesis is burned Ryder is free but has to locate Sabine. As we know from the first book he frees her. The story from there on out is fast paced action. Loved it.
Now to Dante and Cassandra ;).
The romance is perfect. It's not over the top and the Sabine doesn't automatically turn into this OMG a boy, he can save me and let me forget my personality. Those annoy me. Sabine is a strong character all the way through. She has weaknesses but those don't define her and she moves on.
And the vampire, I always have a weakness for the good ones. Ryder can bite me where-ever and whenever he wants. Man.... The scenes with him and biting - serious cold shower time.
I can't wait for the next one. As soon as I finished this one, I pre-ordered the next one.
Sabine can't understand what is happening, or what they want with her, but she knows this is bad. Will she get out of it alive, or is this the last thing she'll experience? Neither of them are prepared for what is going to happen to them...
PNR Romance, action, suspense and smutty fluff in a great combo. Love this series!
