About the Author

Bryce is a mother, a writer, and a wife who loves to escape to the world she built in the Ashland Pack. She burst onto the publishing scene with a hit in The Trinity. She loves writing and talking to people who have the same tastes as she does. I'm a wife to a great hubby and mother to three beautiful children. I love to read books and write about places that come together in my head. I try to write about what I know and usually you will find some law enforcement in my books. I write about strong characters that I want to see succeed in life. I always write a happy ending. I have to guys. I put a lot of tragedy in my books and then give them the much- needed break they need to be successful. I would love to hear from you. My biggest problem with this book can be summed up in two words. Want/won't. These are NOT interchangeable. EVER. I don't believe won't was used even once in this book, want was used in it place. I still gave it three stars because the story itself was quite interesting, with the question of 'what is Ashland?' taking a long time to answer. While I wanted to know immediately, I also understand how a slow build can make things that much better. Other than the many, many grammar mistakes, I have to say I felt Ashland was pretty immature for a 29 year old woman that had been through as much as she has and to have the profession she does.

Will I recommend this to friends? Not without a warning about the grammar issues, and misuse of certain words. But if someone can look past those, and would like a very interesting take on a couple supernatural groups, and also doesn't have an issue with a committed threesome, then this might be the book for them. I did enjoy it somewhat, but the issues I mentioned brought it down in my estimation quite a bit.

It felt as though I was reading someones first attempt at writing, and as such, should have been a .99 cent book.
The characters all spoke without contractions. Kind of like when you're in high school and you need to have a certain number of pages written to get credit. People just don't talk that way.
The sex scenes were the same throughout the book, even so much as to use the EXACT same wording.
As to the rest of the story, well, there was just no flow to the writing. Example...

"Ash smiled at Kammy, and went and put her arm around her, turning her away from Lex. Pelton came closer to Kammy, staring at her. Kammy looked up at him and smiled. Pelton immediately felt a connection toward Kammy. Jonas walked over and put his arm around Kammy. "Lets go slugger". Jonas pulled Kammy away from Pelton. walking her back through the trees. Everybody started walking back toward the vehicles. Pelton never moved but stared at Kammy as she walked away."

See what I mean! A LOT of the book was like this. And Kammy wasn't even the main character. At first it was Ash this, and Nash that... I kept getting them confused. Please use names that are a little more different than Ash and Nash. And then Larken and Larsen. It just felt silly.
The only way to get through this inane book was to just skim through most of it. She doesn't go very deep into the characters and the story ended up being boring.
I wouldn't have written this review if it had only cost me a buck, but I'M MAD.
I want my money back.

I have long been a lover of shifter books and especially those that have a good story or mystery that needs to be solved and not just the hot love or sex scenes. This was a story that I really enjoyed that I really wanted to give a five star rating but felt that I could not justify to myself due to the overabundance of grammatical errors. I can always overlook some but I felt this edition was not proofed or edited before being released. I would recommend the author do this and release an updated version because lots of readers won't tolerate so many errors and will not finish a book and give it low ratings. I really enjoyed the story, the different characters, along with their development that could lead to a series of books, the mystery of discovering just what kind of shifter Ashland was, and finding out who was kidnapping the various young girls from different packs in the area. I look forward to reading more from Ms Evans.

Actually, that's an insult to the 4th grader.
The story wouldn't be half as bad if the writer could keep to 3rd person, could write a sentence with correct punctuation, and had someone proof read. Then found a mature person to take the teen age angst out. Adults worrying about their looks and crying in each other's arms gets old fast. Pounding in the predestined guilt trip and so on was bad. Unfortunately, the story started out strong enough that you didn't get this until after you wasted your money on reading the first chapter. Then it really went downhill.

I really enjoyed this book. Fast paced, engrossing story that kept my interest from page one.

Ashland was found roaming the streets of Atlanta when she was 6yrs old. She grew up in an orphanage where she met her best friend, Nash, a werewolf. Now she's a decetive in NY, but has an opportunity to attend a conference in Colorado where Nash is now living.

Ash finds more than she expected on this trip. Larkin and Larsen have the potential to change her life. Ash truly is "once forgotten, twice loved " but will she accept it?

Bryce Evans is a new to me author that I discovered through Facebook somehow. The teaser was posted and I was hooked just from a teaser! It's very rare for that to happen to me, but I knew I had to have more!

This book is about Ashland and her traveling to see her best friend Nash. While Ash knew she was different and knew all about weres she was unprepared to find not one man but two claiming to be her mates! Ash is very conflicted about this because of her past growing up. Ash has always felt like people were taking her control away and forcing her to do things. When she is confronted with her mates she feels the panic of her control being taking away...

Larken and Larsen are twins and they are the mates of Ash. These two men are so hot, Larken is the Alpha of the pack and Larsen is his Beta, yup that made it delicious! I fell is love with these two, while they are twins, they have different personalities that just made my day. Larken used to being in control and the total Alpha has to slam on the brakes when he realizes that Ash is balking from having a mate. He had the hardest task, I felt because he found her first and he had to slam on his mating instincts. Larsen on the other hand is cool & controlled in the beginning, ready to step aside for Larken. The bothers decide neither can deny the other's happiness so they are both to be mated to Ash. Larsen is the more sensitive and seemingly more attuned to Ash's needs than Larken but, Larken is the total alpha being completely protective and loves her fiercely!

If I were in Ash's shoes there would be no way on Earth I would've been able to choose! And that's just the relationship! This book has a whole cast of characters that I enjoyed to no end- I am going to one click the second in the series today!
