I loved this book hard, the personalities, the environment, the developing, the depth... everything was just right in this book. My heart jumped more then once.
Gabriel put away in a cabin in the woods of.....Nortown for God sake, as a witness, under police protection. This all because he witnesses a murder crime.
It's freezing and scary and he misses his cats (duhh) and home.
With the car he may use he's going to get some caramel latte and cinnamon rolls....not!!
The people in the small town are nice, gossiping along and easygoing.
The tension between Chris and Gabriel is honest, almost endearing. Gabriel feels somewhat inferior with his big body and flabby belly.....but Chris only sees Gabriel in the way he is....gorgeous and soft and warm and now damn....Chris is flirting....Gabriel thinks this can't be happening.....no way...
Still Gabriel is anxious and sad...besides Chris he is all alone...
Then from out nowhere there is a delivery package and within it are just the things he loved most...:) I could just cry for Gabriel
There is a nasty case in this story which put me on the edge...luckily it turns out in the right way...it cost me only one nail...
I could visualize the whole picture....because the way this all is written is just....ahhh.. Straight into my heart....this story had all the feelings in it!! And those two men together....*swoon*
My simple brain can't handle the fact that there are authors who can write short(er) stories which are more complete and honest and full of feelings than any other long story ever can accomplish.

Highly recommend (the whole Nortown serie)
Chris runs the grocery store in Nortown and is the flirty charming guy readers have encountered in the previous books in the series. Gabriel has been placed in witness protection. He's a pretty quiet guy with self-image issues and he doesn't know the first thing about living in cabin with limited utilities. When the two encounter each other Chris's friendly persona practically has Gabriel running to the safety of the cold lonely cabin he's been stuck in.
I enjoyed the read.Chris was a really sweet guy and I liked that he was willing to check up on Gabriel, who was stuck in his families cabin on the outskirt of town. It was really sweet of him to try to make Gabriel comfortable and took care not to spook him. Gabriel, himself was a little too docile for me but I liked that he was so cautious. His fear, paranoia and thoughtlessness to his safety was advertised well throughout the read. I'm glad that Chris was there too look out for him since it wasn't something Gabriel did well on his own.
I was very curious about Andre and Ash and I hope they'll be the next couple featured in the next installment of the series.
An free copy was provided to me in exchange for an hones review.
So, Once in the Underworld turned out to be a little different than I expected. And really, I shouldn't expect anythting anymore because it's obvious that each book has something different to say.
Poor Gabe...I hated the way he put himself down. And I loved his love and devotion to his pets. But I HATED the way he called himself fat. But I LOVED the way he talked about Chris. Chris really was the perfect match for Gabe.
The sex scene in the end is so.damn.beautiful! That's the only way to describe it. Really hot, really emotional, and really beautiful. Also, the phrase "You 're so tight I don't know what to do." was involved. Nuff said.
This was my personal favorite in the Nortown series. I loved John's story but I have such a soft spot for Gabe. I also believe that there will be more to come. Because you can't just tease me with a hot doctor and not deliver. Just saying
The characters were lovely, especially Gabriel. Maybe that’s what made it so hard to see him put himself down so many times. It was great to see how Chris was able to help him start to put his insecurities aside. I love how the characters aren’t perfect. It is very easy to relate to them.
There is a little bit of everything here, romance, actions, steamy scenes and some caramel and toffee. It was fun to read. I can see a lot of people loving it.
I cant say I love it. Maybe it was too sweet for me, I did liked it although I prefer darker stories, but I can never turn down a book from this author, I seem to like them all. In general it was really good. I think most readers will love it
I recieved an ARC of this book from the author
