The bonus scenes were after each story and were a little extra peak for each couple that was nice to read. The first two were ok for me. The third and final was the best in my opinion. Maybe it was because it was Valentine's Day or maybe it was the gift that was given. I can't really say more than that without ruining the bonus scene. Each of the stories are an easy read and can be read separately.
Desert Moon was swoon worthy as Lana and Ty meet and do a dance of denial. Ty is holding out for a memory and Lana doesn't want to be that woman who gives her heart away to find out she's not loved in return. The angst of being caught up in the story while Lana was trying to get Ty to realize she was there to support and love him. And to watch Ty struggle with taking over as the Alpha while making sure that he could also have love. All of that then add danger from outside of the ranch. My emotions were ramped up as Lana was faced with her final issues and facing the outside dangers.
Desert Blood finds Heather running as fast as she can away from danger. Cody is at a crossing point in the pack, one where they need to recognize that he's not the class clown anymore. The last thing he needs is a human teacher distracting him. Okay, and this was hysterical to read – the second grade clean jokes. Yes, they are silly enough that I have been repeating them at work. As for Cody and Heather, they have a lot of internalizing going on. Enough that while understandable, you still want to shake them a little bit and say – talk – spit it out! Oh, ya and now my yoga won't ever be the same again – Wow.
Desert Fate brings Stef to the Twin Moons ranch while on the run. She doesn't know what happened, where she is, or why she should travel the direction that she is. And that's when Fate steps in and throws Kyle in her path. I really could feel the pull of Kyle's loneliness and pain from his story. But for all that, he can still be a dense guy! I'm on team Stef – she was extremely likeable as someone that was strong, independent, could & would fight back. But also had a soft and vulnerable side. She needed Kyle, her wolf needed him. Stef and Kyle were by far my favorite couple.
The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch is well worth purchasing and reading especially if you enjoy wolf shifters. The author does a great job giving us something new and different to enjoy as well as pulling us deeply into the lives of the characters she has created. I highly recommend this series and you can’t go wrong with this box set.
Desert Moon - 4.5 Stars
ALowe is an awesome writer. I was pulled into the characters, plot, and world from the first to the last page. I could not put Desert Moon down. The emotions are so real and the world is unique. I also like how the shifters are portrayed. We are also given a great conflict on more then one front with the feud and rouges. Ty and Lana are a perfect couple. They complemented each other and when they connected the sex was passionate and sensual. Desert Moon was fantastic, the storyline was gripping, and the characters are captivating. I am riveted and blown away.
Desert Blood - 5 Stars
I LOVED return to the Twin Moon Ranch pack. I was blown away and sucked in from beginning to end. I like how ALowe brings her characters together. She has a way of getting the reader hooked into the emotional journey the characters take. Cody and Heather complemented each other perfectly and the way their relationship develops was fabulously done. The story flows, with a rich sense of scenery and world building. Desert Blood is an Amazing and Fabulous read.
Desert Fate - 4.5 Stars
Desert Fate blew me away. I was captivated by ALowe’s characters and the writing. Stefanie and Kyle complemented each other completely and I loved how their relationship grew and changed from friends to mates. I felt for Stef and her situation. Nothing was in her control and Kyle is the only thing that was keeping her grounded, but she does not fully understand yet why. I also felt for Kyle. His frustrations, his fears, and hope that maybe Stef is that one and just maybe they can belong and make a home. The plot was small, but significant enough to add tension for everyone and also shows us that not all packs are good. Desert Fate was such an amazing read. I was captivated with the emotional journey that Kyle and Stef go through and how they finally found a place to call home.
Bonus Scenes: SPRING HOLLOW - Takes place midway through the epilogue of Desert Moon. Ty & Lana are a sweet couple. I love visiting them. Here we get to see a private moment, just a little down time between these two away from the pack, so they can wind. It's sweet and short. Just another wonderful moment in their lives giving the read more to enjoy. A DESERT VALENTINE - Takes place just after Desert Fate.. We get to see Kyle and Tina. It's sweet, short and adorable. What Kyle does for his Valentine gift was perfect. This short reminds us to slow down and enjoy our time and those we love. We also get a glimpse of Tina and how lonely she is; before her story in Desert Heart.
Fans and new readers will enjoy these adorable bonus scenes.
