I was so excited to find this cd for less than the rediculous price it's sold for on tv only to be let down when I realized this version, with the exact same title and cover, only has about half the songs as the other. As it turns out the songs I really wanted aren't even on this one. There needs to be a big sign on the front of the cd to warn customers they are not getting what they think they found.

This brand new CD has a load of great music (18 songs in all) by some of my favorite artists. A number of these I haven't heard in years. Songs range from American Pie by Don McLean, At Seventeen by Janis Ian, Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin to Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight and The Pips, and The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia by Vicki Lawrence. You're sure to relive some good times, like I did, with this great CD. You can't go wrong with this one !!

Not your usual "various artists" collection. There is no "At the Hop" or "Party Doll." There are a lot of great songs that are difficult to find, like: "Horse with No Name" "One Tin Soldier Rides Away" "Cats in a Cradle" and "Indian Reservation>"

This album is a nice collection of hit tunes from the late-60s/early 70s. A lot of great tunes are here, including American Pie, A Horse With No Name, Midnight Train To Georgia, and many others. I don't know of the tunes have been remastered or anything, but I do know that they all sound great. I really like this album, and highly recommend it.

I bought this cd years ago and loved it. It had all my favorite songs from when I was younger. During 2 moves I had lost it and just decided to try to find it again. I'm very pleased with my new cd but disappointed there was only 1 cd when I bought my first one it came with 2 CDs! But it's still nice to go back to my youth listening to this cd excellent songs I can sing every word of every song thank gosh I'm in my car alone.

I ordered this from one of those late at night commercials. I don't usually do that but this one turned out just fine. Good quality, original artists rendition, some classic goodies. This 2 disc collection has some of my favorites, Midnight Train to Georgia, Delta Dawn, Harper Valley PTA, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Proud Mary. A couple of tunes haven't held up too well to the ages, Billy Don't Be a Hero, The Night Chicago Died, somehow these tunes just don't move like when they first came out. All in all a great collection of songs that tell a story. I listen to it alot.

This cd brings back many memories of childhood when songs usually had a story to tell and we could use our imaginations. Now mtv does that for us (unfortunatly). All of the songs are great with the exception of "alone again, naturally". I would highly recommend this collection .

Don't let the reviews of people who don't read playlists confuse you!!

I picked up this CD at the library and love every song on it; even the one's I didn't know well before listening to this album. If you love the "Songwriter" genere, chances are good you'll enjoy this, especially since it has hard to find titles, such as "Ode To Billy Joe." It even seems that someone put some effort into what order the songs are in on the CD.

This is one of the few CDs that my husband and I can agree on!

I will admit. . . I'm intrigued by this "two disc" version referred to below. . . could there be even more to this great album?!?
