Okay, that's not a review of the product as much as a technical review. I've bought episodes of series before, and this has never happened. He couldn't tell me why. He gave me credit and his final answer was, if I ever bought another episode and it didn't load on Kindle, call them back then. Really not helpful.
So, this is more a warning. The video product is great; just what I wanted. But, for some reason, isn't loading into my video library the way it's supposed to. Therefore, I feel like I've been cheated. I want to watch a product I paid for on my Kindle, and due to a tech issue at Amazon, I wasn't able to. With no resolution in site except to call them back if it happens again.
many of the action scènes are ridiculous, hard to find the big bad dangerous when all you need is just a sword to beat them......i sadly son't expect much from the show anymore
The "red room" that is introduced in the later episodes is severely lacking in believability-- it looks like a disco floor or DDR pad with fake flames added in around the actors. When Charming is in the mirrored room, that seems more interesting as a representation of the limbo that the sleeping curse creates.
Just as Regina's flip to evil (blaming a 10 year old?) seemed a bit quick, which this season does give more background to and thus makes it seem less ridiculous, her flip back to wanting to be "good" seems quick as well. It seems very deux ex machina for her to suddenly want to reform in just a couple days of losing her powers; how easily can a person who killed that many people and sent children to their deaths in a witches house really come back from all of that? Granted, she did almost kill her own child, but her "wake up call" seems to happen too quickly.
On a more humorous note, Belle and Gold's attempt at dating is hilariously cheesy at times (condiments are really this world's best magic? Really?), as well as lacking in complexity. Granny seems to show her distaste towards Gold in a rather reserved manner by just saying she charged him extra for the pickles. Really? That's it? At the least, this would be a good time for some "real world" humor such as threats to spit in his food.
Grievances aside, there are episodes with strong acting and plot that make up for the weaker parts. Some of the most captivating moments are those revealing more of Snow White and Red's history as friends in the Enchanted Woods. The actor who plays Red seems truly in her element when she is able express Red's inner conflict in the fantasy world; Snow White's best moments also seem to be during the fairy "back story."
Delivery was great, arrived before expected, and also it came via Royal Mail this time, not Yodel (I'm in the UK) - I should choose the cheapest shipping option more often, though Amazon didn't add an Import Fees Deposit to my order - but now I understand more about Import Fees, problems like this shouldn't happen again. They did refund me the cost Royal Mail charged for the handling though, so yet again Amazon have been nice to me.
I just couldn't wait till it came out here to have it, plus I had missed an episode earlier which I needed to see, but then I realised how irrevelant it really was.
The good thing about this show is if you miss an episode, you can still follow the show, but it is one episode stretched over a whole season, so similar to 24 really.
If you're into witches, goblins, and crickets, I can highly recommend this. Can't wait for Season 3.
