About the Author
Greg Case began his culinary career at Dean & Deluca in New York before moving to Boston, where he worked as a pastry chef at Hamersley's Bistro. In 1999, he left to open G. Case Baking Company, which now supplies cakes, pastries, and other sweets to numerous shops, restaurants, and businesses. He is the coauthor of A Feast of the Heart and assisted former White House chef Henry Haller on the PBS series The Presidential Palate.
Keri Fisher is an editor at Cook's Country magazine and a frequent contributor to the Food & Travel section of the Boston Globe.

The result was moist and delicious. But without the base recipe I got from this book I would have been stuck! (If you are going to try the dinosaur cake, you'll need to double the quantities in the recipe.)
The basic recipe may seem a bit intimidating(more difficult than a boxed cake, but still pretty simple), but every recipe I have made from this book really is very good.
This coffee + donuts cake, whoopie pies, jelly roll and trifle are a few of my favorites.
The directions are simple and straightforward, accompanied by warm stories and good bit of humor. Each new recipe flows naturally from the last, and I'm already coming up with creative new twists.
I highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who wants to increase his or her dessert repertoire painlessly.
