Amy doesn’t do relationships, she doesn’t do commitment, she just does flings that don’t require feelings other than friendship and some good times in bed. Marcus is also not into commitment and relationships, so when these two are pushed back in to one another’s lives, things definitely take a turn for both of them.
This book is a little different than the other books in the series, as it’s set in Chicago, and dealing with the ins and outs of the elite society. Amy is a part of this society, but left after high school and never looked back, because of some things that had gone down. She wasn’t looking forward to being back, but wanted to be there for her mother. But Amy is thrown back into the drama of the high society, and Marcus is new to the Chicago elite, so he’s not aware of the past and why there is some tension regarding Amy.
I loved watching Marcus chase Amy even though he was adamant that he doesn’t chase and Amy start to fall for Marcus, even though she swore she didn’t do relationships. I don’t think either one of them really realized that they were chasing or falling, but it was awesome to read.
When Amy and Marcus are together, they are HOT HOT HOT! I enjoyed seeing them peel away they layers and walls they have built up, and even though both make some stupid mistakes, I loved Amy and Marcus together. Marcus is definitely hot, dominant, but has a soft spot for Amy. Amy is stubborn, funny, guarded and strong. Together these two are amazing, and reading their story was absolutely beautiful. The chemistry between these two is so hot, it will burn up your kindle!
I truly enjoyed Amy and Marcus’s story and really hope that we get to see more of them in future installments of the One To Hold series. I hope this series goes on forever as Tia Louise has a way of telling stories that never get old and always leave me wanting more!
Marcus Merritt, Elaine’s older brother, the hot-shot lawyer who represented Derek when he was arrested for murder. Marcus is gorgeous, rich and a confirmed bachelor who is not willing to settle down. He also is on top of the social anarchy which is why Elaine request him help introduce Amy to some of his business associates.
Amy Knight, is the younger sister of Stuart and Patrick Knight just moved back in order to spend more time with her mom. She is independent and reluctant to agree to the meeting. Amy doesn’t want to hurt her new sister in law feelings to she takes the meeting.
Marcus and Elaine believe this is their first meeting, when their eyes meet- they are both stunned when they realize it is not the first time they met.
Marcus and Amy meet once before- at a mutual friend’s wedding- where they hooked up for a one night stand.
Marcus does not chase and Amy does not do relationship- but they cannot get enough of each other. Amy holds secrets from her past and Marcus has a secret from the present- can they get passed them and have something special?
One to Chase is seventh book by Tia Louise- They can be read as a Stand Alone or as a series. Each one gets better. Every story is new and fresh- the characters grow but remain true to their original introduction to the series. I cannot wait until Tia goes back to the writing cave giving us more of her hot men.
If you read One To Save, you know a bit about Marcus Merritt. He is the older brother of Elaine. He is a lawyer who can give a closing ala Tom Cruise from 'A Few Good Men' and he saved Derek from prosecution for murder. Amy (Amalie) Knight is the little sister of Stuart and Patrick who recently returned to Chicago from Paris. At Derek and Melissa's wedding, these two commitment-phobes hook up for one hot one night stand and had amazing sexual chemistry. After which Amy ran...that's what she does.
When Elaine enlisted Marcus to help Amy get back into professional circle in Chicago, they are pushed back together. Surprised and shocked by this reintroduction, the sparks fly. But, where can it go for two people who can't trust or commit? Marcus doesn't chase and Amy doesn't want to be caught, but they collide over and over in some steamy, raw sensual scenes.
"Invisibility or Flying?" ~Amy
"Baby, we've been flying since Day One." ~ Marcus
Life in Chicago is a small circle for the upper echelon. Amy is quickly reminded why she ran away as these socialites when get catty. Fashionistas and trust fund make for some mean women. She came home to be with her mom, but can she stay or will she run again?
As usual, Tia's drawn me in with such real characters with flaws and scars. The women are strong, sassy and independent and the men are protective and loyal. This book in the series, probably even more than the others, can be read as a standalone, but we do get some brief glimpses into other characters lives. And the epilogue, well I can't wait to get back to Stuart and Mariska.

Sister of the lovely Patrick, Amy is an enigma, especially to Marcus, but after their tryst at Derek and Melissa’s wedding he assumes that he will never see her again, despite her remaining firmly in his thoughts.
Marcus, Elaine’s brother, is a confirmed bachelor but after an unexpected meeting with Amy, or Amalie, in his office (as a favour to Elaine), he quickly starts to re-evaluate his feelings on relationships. Amy, however, is untrusting and doubts herself at every turn where relationships are concerned but Marcus is not one to be deterred and giving Amy a job with his company, he sets his sights firmly in her direction.
This story reaches previously unseen heights in Tia Louise's books as we are wowed with glamour, wealth and opulence. We are treated to fashion and social hierarchies as we follow Amy and Marcus through the high life of Chicago but this is a highlife that Amy has spurned before, thanks to her previous partying lifestyle and the tragic result of a situation she found herself in.
Marcus is continually questioning what it is that makes Amy fear any sort of a commitment with him and as he pulls, she firmly pushes him away. Every time you feel that Marcus has had a breakthrough with Amy, she rejects him once again, that is until she knows she needs emotional support and there is only one man she is prepared to turn to, Marcus. As a result, we unexpectedly get to spend some time Patrick and Stuart towards the end of the story, along with their respective partners, but it's a fleeting mention in the storyline but one that’s no less delicious.
For me, this story was a little confusing. A lot of the references were lost on me, possibly due to me being a Brit, and this detracted from the story slightly, but that said, the story was still enjoyable and if you can appreciate the whole fashionista feel throughout it, you won’t be disappointed.
Next up is One to Take, and back to Stuart, so buckle up and prepare for the ride!
Throughout this series we've grown with all the characters and really feel apart of their lives, I'm still waiting to here more about Slayde I was hoping that he got bought into Alexandre-Knight.
So back to One to Chase, as per usual there's no messing about, You can't help but be hooked because they way the story opens up and in true Tia Louise fashion she gives exactly what you want.
Marcus can't stop thinking about Amy and when their paths crossed again much to Marcus's delight, I wondered how messy things were going to get, you don't know at the time what Paige is up to whether her intentions are good or bad and of course that awful Karen Phipot you just want to know what her problem is with Amy, what's the story behind that? Were kept guessing and there's plenty of intrigue amongst other things to keep you gripped.
Even though Amy didn't want to commit to a relationship because of her issues once she started to spend more time with Marcus things started to change albeit slowly, it was fun to witness both of them, considering Marcus didn't Chase that's exactly what he ended up doing.
Throughout this story there are some really endearing and sexy moments courtesy of Marcus of course but a lot happens In between, the situation with Sylvia who by the way was so lovely, you know something is up but your waiting for that moment and then it happens but all came good.
I know these books can be read standalone but I would recommend reading the whole series because of the connection between all the characters it all flows beautifully and I can't wait to read the next instalment..!!
Thank you ..
Oh Tia you are one of my favourite writers in this genre and the 'One to...' books are my No.1 series and I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great read.
This is Book 7 and I had it on preorder, having been tantalised by the prequel at the end of book 6.
Wow!! Amy and Marcus's 'hookup' at Derek and Melissa's wedding is sizzling and is not meant to be anything more than a one-night stand, so when they meet again the desire is evident from both sides.
Amy is back in Chicago after living in Paris and family contacts get her a meeting at a local law firm where she may be able to get herself a new job. When she attends an interview and finds herself face to face with Marcus again, they are equally dumbstuck by the twist of fate and realise they should not take their attraction any further.
Of course they are both smitten with each other and I love when a book is written with both POV's as Tia is adept at doing, as we get to feel what both characters are thinking. They (inevitably) cannot keep away from each other and they quickly discover this simmering attraction needs to be revisted!
The sex scenes are hot and I loved their characters and how they interacted. However in the spirit of an honest review, the only criticism I have is that the storyline itself did not have quite as much depth to it as the previous books....but I forgive Tia as it has got to me nigh on impossible to match One to Hold!
