One Christmas Wish was the perfect way to get me into the Christmas spirit.

I loved Julia's character in Something Like Love, and I was so excited for her novella.

It starts with Julia attending Ben and Paige's engagement party and this is where she rekindles her relationship with Isaac. She has known Isaac for her whole life until her accident. He left town and now twelve years later, time has only been good to him.

Isaac is shocked to see how much Julia has matured. He couldn't care less she is in a wheelchair. He had a thing for her for a long time ago, but he tried to stay away from her because of Ben. Now, he wants to spend time with her.

This was a sweet story with great main characters. Julia and Isaac made a great couple and they supported each other with Isaac respecting her need for independence.

Cliffhanger: No

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Una

This is a sweet story about a disabled girl who is trying to make a life of her own and prove that she is able to live without the over-protectiveness of her family. Julia has never seen marriage as a possibility however when she runs into the only man she has ever loved at her brother’s wedding she begins to question her thinking.

Isaac is post military and suffering from PTSD. Once he sees Julia again, he knows he must somehow win her heart. She brings a stability and calmness to him that no therapy has been able to achieve. When he decides to help her reach her dreams of owning a therapy dog; they end up stranded together for a few days and are able renew their love and commitment to each other. Julia however although completely committed to Isaac cannot see him wanting her long term. Isaac is determined to prove to Julia that she is beautiful and deserving of his undeniable love in spite of her disability. He does not see the chair but the person in it and he wants Julia to see that although he knows she can be independent that she can allow people to help when they do so out of love.

Julia is a bridesmaid at her brother’s Christmas wedding and Isaac is a groomsman, and the wedding goes off smoothly but, when the family learns of Julia’s decision to leave town sparks begin to fly putting into doubt whether Julia will actually be able to accomplish her dream to become independent.

Isaac must prove to Julia and her family that not only can she be independent but that he is committed to Julia for life.

This is a story with good flow and good development of characters. I loved the spunk of Julia and her sudden realization that she had the ability to help Isaac as much as he could help her. This would be a great book to curl up to during all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Maybe I will ask Santa for another Sarah Richardson book.

If you are looking for a Christmas romance that is guaranteed to hit you right in the feels… then you’re going to want to go pick up One Christmas Wish.

Julia and Isaac have a history of attraction and caring for each other. For reasons known only to Isaac, he stepped away. His twelve years away in the Navy have redefined the man Isaac became, but nothing can ever change how he feels about Julia. He’s heading home with the intent of winning the girl of his dreams – but that might be a bit more complicated than he imagined.

Julia has her bid for freedom all planned out. She’s finally ready to follow her dream for independence from her loving, overprotective family. It would be a perfect world if she could tell them what she’s planning – but reality is a far different beast. The last thing she expected to discover right before her plan came together was to see Isaac again. She’d loved him long ago and then he left. He left before the accident that changed her life forever.

Second chances, could she really believe that Isaac could be that man who would love her just as she is, without trying to change her or do absolutely everything for her. Is it possible for love to have lived hidden in hearts for over a decade? One Christmas Wish will answer those questions and so much more.

I enjoyed Julia and Isaac’s romance very much. She is a very strong woman who has had to face a reality that was not her life plan. She is intelligent, snarky at times and really needs for her family to let her go and live her life. No one can change what happened. But everyone can and should allow her to know her own independence. Isaac is that man who once he loves its for life.. no matter what life tosses at him.

Julia was my favorite character from the previous book and I love that she gets her own story. Julia is wheelchair bound but is determined to take charge of her own life away, from her overprotective but well-meaning family. She's accepted that love and marriage are not in the cards for her, but when the man she's been in love with all her life returns just before the start of her new life, will she give up the chance to follow her dreams or will she give up a chance for happiness? Or can she have both?

Joining the Navy saved Isaac Nash in more ways than one and after twelve years, he's back home with one thing on his mind- winning over the one woman who was his lifeline through every mission. Julia has other plans for her life that don't include him but Isaac is determined to find a place in her life and help her understand that leaning on someone doesn't make her weak.

Julia and Isaac's story was unexpectedly emotional. Julia had every reason to be bitter about how her life turned out, but she was so upbeat and funny and smart and I loved her. However, with Isaac's return, she had to deal with the buried fears, pain and struggles from when she first had the accident as well as the unresolved feelings from Isaac's abrupt departure, in order for them to have a chance at a future. I love that Isaac was unwavering in his support for Julia and his respect for her desire for independence.
ONE CHRISTMAS WISH perfectly captures the spirit of the season - love, hope, healing and new beginnings. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
