I honestly don't know what I'm going to do once I've worked my way through the backlist. I should probably slow down so I don't read them all really quickly, but they're so absorbing that I know that's not going to happen. I have a massive TBR pile, and instead of working my way through it, I'm adding more to it. The perils of being a reading addict, I suppose.
The setup for the story has been done many times before, but there is enough going on that it's never trite or predictable.
Andrea is a fearless, feisty woman who made me laugh. She was also surprisingly tolerable in her part as the 'spoiled princess'. Usually the character is a whiny, insufferable pain who you'd love to slap silly. I never felt that way about Andrea.
Montana manages to be alpha without being an unlikable d-bag. Quite often authors seem to think that's what readers want (maybe it is), but if reading a book is accompanied by the desire to do bodily harm to characters, especially the ones I'm supposed to be cheering for, then I don't want any part of it.
The odds they face to reach their HEA are many, which makes their reaching it that much sweeter.
There were (to my mind, anyway) aspects of the storyline that seemed to point to at last one more book featuring these characters. I hope that happens, because I'd love to read it (even though my TBR pile has probably exceeded my lifespan).
There was some twists and turns I was surprised about and not too many cliched ones. The love story was funny nad the antics they go through because of 'family' problems are fun to read about.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy for my honest review. But I actually purchased a copy!
I will update my review when I finish the book. Happy reading to all!
