I love all the Wilde Ways books = I bought this ebook (I received a signed c0py from Cynthia Eden) but I wanted to read it on my kindle. I will treasure the copy she sent me. Haley and Spencer are the perfect n and H, she is running for her life and he an ex-seal and the sheriff. There is angst, very real danger, deceit, lies, crooked FBI and police, tons of funny banter, good friend and town folk, elves, suspense and lots of steam to get us to a very merry HEA.

Sexy and suspenseful, this romance is full of heat. It wastes no time playing up the chemistry, and the action-packed storyline takes things up another notch. I was pretty disappointed that it really has nothing to do with the holidays; sure, it takes place at Christmastime, but that's largely irrelevant to the story. This one is much more focused on the instant connection, the suspense, and the steam. It's a solid romantic suspense story, but don't go into this one looking for a cute Christmas romance or a fully developed relationship.

The story follows Haley, a woman on the run. She's left the city in an effort to get away from some trouble, and finds herself in a small town for the holidays. Unfortunately, the town's sheriff has taken an interest in Haley - in more ways than one - and hiding out seems like it's going to be impossible. But as Haley and Spencer get to know each other better, Haley discovers that the sexy sheriff might be just what she needed all along.

I love a protective hero, and Spencer is definitely that. He's immediately smitten with Haley, and wants nothing more than to take of her, both in and out of the bedroom. There were a few times when his advances made me a little uncomfortable considering the conflict of interest, but that's not completely unexpected in romantic suspense. Things move at a VERY rapid pace, so you'll definitely need to be okay with an instalove vibe. It didn't bother me, but it was certainly noticeable. It's also important to note that while this is a standalone, there are a few characters from other books who make appearances that feel somewhat unresolved. Ultimately, this is for those readers who want something sexy and action-packed, and it does both of those things well.

And Hot it does get! This book is an Insta-love between a woman on the run and Sheriff determined to keep her safe. This is a prime example of why I love Cynthia Eden's romantic suspense.

It is a standalone but we do see some Wilde characters. I loved the pacing of this book, the hot scenes between Spencer and Haley, and the whole story in general. I love Spencer's determination to help Haley but yet he will stand back if it's what she wants.

I loved this book! A suspense filled storyline with a protective Alpha hero and a cop-fearing heroine who is just looking for some anonymity. The instant and steamy hot sexual attraction between small town cop Spencer and petite and feisty Haley starts on page one and gets even steamier as the danger that Haley ran from follows her to Point Hope, Alabama. I loved this fast paced insanely sexy suspense filled story just as much as the colorful characters and I’m definitely going to be reading more of this author’s books in the near future.

I love this book. The characters are strong, loyal, smart, and wonderful. The story is set in a small town at Christmas time, and the romance between Haley and Spencer is enjoyable to read. As people try to kill Haley, the mystery and action keep the story flowing. I do not care for all the detailed sex scenes at all, but I easily skipped those. As a whole, this book is totally entertaining!!!

He wants to protect her but from what. When they meet sparks start flying. This is a Christmas love story with lots of suspense and steam. The crew of Wilde Security also play a part in this book. Alpha to the core Spencer knows what he wants. This sexy Santa will get his wish this year. Lots of humor in this one keeps the pages flying by. Another great story from this superb author.

I don’t usually read a lot of contemporary romance but when the cover of this one attracted my eye and I read the blurb I decided I would give it a go.
Sometimes you just have to read outside of your usual comfort zone. It was also at a bargain price too! The cover has a cute couple kissing on it with a wintery scene in the background, despite the title One Hot Holiday, so I guess there could be a bit of cute steaminess in the book.

It immediately became clear the “holiday” mentioned was Christmas. The two main characters are Haley Quick and Sheriff Spencer Lane. We quickly learn that Haley is running away from something, and is really scared and vulnerable, which is probably why she is wondering around Pointe Hope without taking account of her surroundings. Haley is about to be run over by elves on bikes when Spencer spots her, and he certainly likes what he sees until he realises, she is in the path of the elves on bikes and may get hurt if he doesn’t act rapidly. Spencer rushes over grabbing Haley out of the route the bikes are on. Haley doesn’t take being grabbed by a stranger very well initially and isn’t in a friendly mood despite the good looks of her saviour. Then when Haley gets to the place, she has rented to stay it turns out that Sheriff Spencer Lane is her new landlord and he is suspicious about her making the booking in a male name. Haley quickly comes up with the explanation that she is a woman traveling alone and likes to be cautious. Spencer doesn’t really believe Haley, there is something about her that has his Navy Seal, Sheriff radar flaring! Of course, I have revealed that this book is a romance, but Spencer & Haley certainly go on one heck of a rollercoaster journey together. There’s also a little chemistry between Wilde agents Blair and Linc, that I would like to read more about too. The book has a great “feel good” aspect to it, the friendliness of the Pointe Hope residents, the camaraderie between Spencer and the people in the local bar. There is a brilliant scene where Spencer is volunteered to sing karaoke and Haley is shocked and impressed with how well he can sing. It makes her wonder, and myself as reader, if Spencer Lane is bad at anything? You’ll need to read the book to find out!

My favourite characters were Haley and Spencer who both seem to have had sad pasts and suffered great losses. I also liked Blair and Linc, the Wilde agents, they were at times like a comedy duo. Another character I really liked too was Titus the deputy and the unquestioning back up Spencer ends up needing. I was also intrigued by Eric the owner of Wilde Securities and his employees.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing this book were that I really enjoyed this book, it had mystery, suspense, betrayal, romance and some holiday cheer too!

To sum up this is a great taster of the Wilde Ways series and I am certainly interested in reading more. In fact, I really hope Blair and Linc get their own book too! This may be a novella but it is jam packed with action, mystery, suspense, murder and betrayal all alongside a budding romance!

I'm a big Cynthia Eden fan, but getting through this book was kinda hard, it's been a while since I've read any of her books, which happily sit in my kindle, but this felt like a amalgamation of key tropes from previous books - something that I usually wouldn't mind, but this time around, the characters and the dialogue made me feel it painfully. There was a lack of energy when it came to the main characters' interactions, and it just generally felt meh.
