I enjoyed the rest of the story, too. I had some suspicions about where some things were going, but this author kept it fresh, and fun.
Rory is definitely One Hot Scot. He's also incredibly endearing when he needs to come clean, and I'm not talking about a shower scene, either! So, besides being Hot, he's also quite sweet. I like that in a guy.
Fin is trying to get back on her feet. She's had a really rough time of it, and she really needs to just let loose. At least that's what her friends are telling her. When Rory walks in, all soaking wet, and HOT, and he doesn't recognize her, well...why not have some fun times while she's getting her life in order? Yeah, sounds good to me!
There are several enjoyable supporting characters that made this a well-rounded read. While this one does stand on it's own, Ivy is getting her own book next. I look forward to that one, too!
I recommend this one to those that love Hot Scots. Isn't that all of us? ;) ;) ;)
I loved the blurb, which is what prompted me to buy it. And it was a cute story. A memorable one night stand, that doesn't end quite they way Fin (Finola) was hoping. Then a second meeting, years later, that recognition only hits one of them.
Both Fin and Rory have issues, things in their pasts and present that could derail their reunion.
I loved the secondary characters, they were funny and supportive.
It was a bit predictable, the "twists" at the end were not unexpected. It was slow and repetitive at the beginning. But the pace picked up toward the end.
What I struggled with was the language difference. There were words and phrases that were thrown in that I was unfamiliar with, which interfered with the flow of reading. And the written "brogue" was distracting. I didn't mind it, It just wasn't used consistently. Not to mention the dialogue was scattered. Conversations that felt like I had missed the beginnings of, or that I was the only one not in, on the inside joke. I had to reread some of them several times to ascertain the meanings.
I have several authors that I read, and love, that are based in the U.K. I've never had any problems reading their books. So I know it can be done. I just don't think it was successful this time. At least not for me.
Was it a bad book? No. Will I read the next one? Probably not.
He might not remember Fin, but he makes up for it by his sweet but mostly sexy behavior.
Fin is a great character. She has the most hilarious group of friends who stand by her and support her in everything.
As much as I enjoyed reading about Fin and Rory, the scenes with Fin's friends were the best!!
One Hot Scot might feature a hot model on the cover but dont be fooled, it doesn't end with a pretty face. The book has depth. Both Fin and Rory have issues they need to deal with ,both personally and professionally .
One hot Scot keeps you entertained and delivers a very satisfying HEA.
When Fin (DON’T call her Finola) returns to Scotland to mend her broken heart after a tragic event, her friends Ivy and Nat are there to help her pick up the pieces. Their humor and friendship helps her to get on with her life, but maybe not the way she originally planned. Or didn’t plan, as the case may be.
In steps sexy Rory, who not only takes Fin to bed (many times), but also plays an even bigger part in her life than even he is aware.
This is a story of homecoming, sex, laughter, sex, and healing. And did I mention sex? ;)
