We were first introduced to Kristin in We Own Tonight, where we also learned that there were some issues in her marriage, and that none of her friends liked her husband; due to him being a turd. Well fast forward to One Last Time, and we finally learn everything there is to know about Kristin. And let me tell you, you will be blown away!
KRISTIN is THE.BEST.HEROINE.E-V-E-R! She has this soft exterior, where you might feel that she doesn't know who she truly is. But let me tell you, she isn't soft at all; she is small and MIGHTY. After a devastating reality, she starts to pick up the pieces of her broken family and heart. We see her transform into a strong-willed woman, with a voice, and a backbone. Her metamorphosis was stunning.
Enter the last person she needed in her life, Noah freaking Frazier. He is sex on a stick, with a side of banging a$$ (bahahah). Their very first interactions are too dang funny. Like so funny that I was crying. I couldn't with these two. She was hilarious and he was so adorable. From there on out, their story was breathtaking, challenging, and real. So dang real. You should know that their story isn't the typical run of the mill girl meets boy and falls head over heels in love with him. It is so much more than that.
I haven't fell in love with a heroine and hero, the way I did with these two. They have so many trials and tribulations to work through. From Kristin's turd of an ex, to these two being from different worlds, to her kidlins. They really have some hoops to jump through. But boy every hoop is full of everything. Like I mentioned, there is so much swoon in this book. Like tons. Noah is the ultimate book boyfriend. He really melted me. And Kristin is all woman. And when she finally finds her voice, she is all roar.
This book literally took the breath out of me. I laughed, a lot, swooned even more, and even shed a few tears, all in a great way. Guys, I adore this story. I felt a real connection to Kristin. There was a time in my life where I needed to learn to find my voice and leave an unhealthy relationship. I also found my real life Noah, in the most unexpected way. I know this book is fiction, but it shows that there is always hope. This is the first 10 STAR book, that I have come across is many years.
Kristin's marriage has been over for a while. She's coasted in her life for the last decade feeding the needs of her demanding husband Scott but has never felt good enough. After the end of their marriage, she finds herself at her best friend Heather's house for girls night when Noah walks in and turns her world upside down. She doesn't know how, as a newly single mom, navigating life on her own for the first time, she can now manage a new relationship with Hollywood's hottest actor.
You're worth complicating things.
Noah Frazier is an actor and finds himself staying the weekend at his friend Eli's house in Tampa. He immediately feels drawn to Kristin even though she's in no place for any type of relationship. After agreeing to be the subject of her celebrity gossip column, the grow a friendship and even more close.
"I promise you don't want to even dip your toes into my crazy life." If she only knew that I'd dive in headfirst...
Guys, I know Corinne Michaels isn't known for romantic comedy, but it's there! One Last Time had me laughing my ass off! Don't get it twisted though, this is Corinne we're talking about...I cried as well. One Last Time is a book that hit so close to home for me and that's what I always loved about Corinne's writing. It's real, it's raw, and it's true to heart. One of my favorite things about Corinne's writing is her heroine's friendships. She's always got a great group of friends in her corner, and One Last Time is no different. Kristin's need for her best friends was so powerful and awesome to read. I can't say enough how much I loved this one. All the feelings wrapped up in one fabulous book!
I’ll Slytherin to your Hufflepuff tonight if you need me to remind you.
