There are five main characters, Beth and Bridgette who are best friends and work together, Kyle, Bridgettes ten year old son and Sean and Patrick who are best friends and also work together. There are no descriptions of any of these people so it is hard to get to really know them.
There are loads and loads of mistakes. Along the way Bridgette is referred to as Bernadette a couple of times and Sean is referred to as Ben which really through me and had to read over the passage again to realise that Ben was in fact Sean.
He / she are mixed up. Beth is having a conversation with Bernadette in their offices and Beth's telephone rings and she says OH ITS BRIDGETTE and then says HI SEAN.
Beth realises that Sean has been emailing Bridgette but thinks it is Beth. Beth eventually realises this mistake and tells Bridgette who doesn't seem too upset even though she really likes her internet admirer. Beth then runs to Sean and tells him the story.
Bridgette has accepted a job in Chicago and funnily enough Sean and Patrick's company have just been accepted to run a marketing campaign in Chicago. So Bridgette has packed up her things, all in a couple of hours and Bridgette and Kyle are now their way to Chicago via Water Zone that Kyle wants to visit. They stop at a cafe on the way and she buys him a birthday cake as it is his 11th birthday. He tells her she is the best and then she tells him to blow out the candles and make a wish but don't tell her as it won't come true. When they arrive at Water Zone Sean is there waiting for them. He picks Kyle up and swings him around and then he runs off with Sean's dog and Sean approaches Bridgette and says SO DO YOU BELIEVE IN TRUE LUCK OR TRUE LOVE. She replies that she is starting to believe in both. Then they go to the Water Zone. That's it.
Beth laid on a works leaving party for Bridgette and when everyone was leaving Bridgette turns to one of her co works and says PLEASE SAY GOODBYE TO BETH FOR ME. These two are supposed to be bestest friends from childhood, you don't just leave to go to Chicago and not say goodbye to your besty. Also, how can you pack up all your worldly possessions in a couple of hours. You have a ten year old son, can you imagine how much stuff the kid has.
I was so disappointed with this book, the story is too short, not enough description, Sean and Patrick sound as if they could play the part of Dumb and Dumber.
Note to author: You need to either get in touch with your publisher and tell them you are going to another publishing house or get them to get a good proof reader. Re write this book. Given details about the main characters, more description about their jobs, how old these people are, more background information on them etc etc. It could have been soooooo good.
If the book had been any longer I would have given up but as it was so short I just continued hoping it would improve but as time went on it just got worse and worse.
Would I recommend this book: Definitely not, waste of time as it is at the moment but if it is re written with a good proof read it would be worth downloading.
Despite its errors I enjoyed this story of confusion and cross purposes. It w a great way to pass a few hours. A good read for lazing with on a hot summer day or curling up with in a cozy spot on a cold one.
