2009 album from the acclaimed French DJ/remixer/producer. Already established in Europe and beyond as a multi-million seller, Guetta has amassed a sizeable U.S. fanbase since his first global dancefloor hit in 2004. With each passing year, this talented Parisian dance music maverick plays to bigger and bigger crowds on the club and festival circuit. One Love is an ambitious ingeniously crafted album that sets forth nothing less than a bold and beautiful manifesto for the global Pop and Dance audiences. With the lead-off single, 'When Love Takes Over' (featuring Kelly Rowland) hitting the top of the Billboard club chart, Guetta has firmly planted the flag of success on the nation's Pop landscape.

I've been in love with Dance/Club/EMD since I was listening to the forerunners from the 70s and 80s with my dad (it was called New Wave, fans of EMD should look it up) and in my teens I was hunting down DJ and Club/Dance cds that you had to go to second hand music stores to find: Tiesto, Skribble, Irene, Vitamin D, Shadow, Paul Van Dyk, ATB, Brroklyn Bounce, etc. Hearing One Love was like going back and discovering those cds for the first time again, only the artists are a little more up to date :)
A few of the songs, naturally, sound similar as you get into artists that all create the same sounds like Will I Am, Fergie, Chris Willis, Ne-Yo. They are distinct sounds on their own if you know how to distinguish, but sometimes when you are listening to the album in the background while concentrating on some other work they all run into each other.
I enjoy the entire album, even the remixes of the same songs on the second album that sound similar. But the surprising standouts:
Memories (with Kid Cudi, made me go out and sample other offerings from Cudi)
When Love Takes Over (with Kelly Rowland)
Revolver (with Madonna and Lil Wayne, holy crap is this a great track!)
Missing You (with Novel)
Love Is Gone (with Fred Riester & Joachim Garraud - A french DJ I ADORE)
Acapella (with Kelis... who knew she was that good)
The second cd is really for more diehard fans of the genre, the extra remixes and the other songs like Toyfriend and How Soon As Now are not as great if you don't live for this sort of music.
Incidentally, the only track I DIDN'T like on this disk was the title track. "One Love" seemed designed for public consumption and was therefore a watered-down version of Guetta's usual genius.
Other than that, this collection of songs is wonderful-- I've listened to the entire CD at least 30 times since it arrived and that's a good indicator that this is going to stay on heavy rotation on my MP3 player for a long time.
Bravo, Mr. Guetta. You've done it again.
Any way, if you get chance for the " Ibiza experience " just do it , or buy a David Guetta album and start your own" Ibizanation" in your own imagination.
