There have been a lot of good books, a lot of bad ones, in almost every genre, and yet I still didn't find one that felt like this was the one I really was looking for at the moment.
One in a Million was that book. Loved it! There are no accidents, as the book says.
I've already bought the next one in the series, A Million to One, but I'm saving it for next week, because I've learned over the past two years NOT to binge read. Because when the series is over, it's over, and I don't want to squander the magic.
But if you are open to an exciting story, told well, with considerable Proustian reflection, you'll enjoy this book. Disclaimer: I'm personally acquainted with the author and saw early drafts of the work. I still think it's an excellent read, and I don't say that about every book written by my friends. Note: this book ends in a cliffhanger, so if you are dying to know how it ends, you'll have to read the other two.
From the first page to the last, this was a thrilling read. The author does not waste words idly. Something I really appreciated. There was not a dull moment as the story built upon itself at a great pace.
Being of similar status and age, I found it hauntingly easy to relate to Kyle's (the Main Character) thoughts and choices, both good and not so good choices alike.
I'm looking forward to the second book in this series and would highly recommend this book to people looking for good story that is well delivered.
