Anne has been working for Jake for a number of years now. She never meant for her assistant job to be permanent. She took it when she needed to be close to family and she has been in love with Jake for the past two years. She is finally starting to try and find another job and hopefully move on. After all to her Jake has never been anything but her boss. He never seems to want more from her, even if her friends think he does.
When Anne gives her two weeks notice Jake does not take it very well. He needs Anne. He wants Anne. Things move quickly as this is a novella, but that was fine. I was enjoying the story. My issue with the story? The sexy time was awkward. The writing was a bit off for me for some reason and it just didn't work. Not sure why as I have read the authors other works and never had an issue with this, but in this instant it just was not good for me. That and Anne is a little ridiculous at the end causing drama when there was no need. But it all works out in the end and everyone is happy. A good read, just not an amazing read.

There comes a time when every girl needs to move on. She has decided he will never see her as anything but his employee and she needs to get her life back on track and find love elsewhere. She turns in her resignation and it shakes him to the core. Little does she know but he is in love with her as well. But one doesn't date their employees. They have to make an over-night trip to southern California and things take a turn. This is a fun, interesting read. I really enjoyed it
I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
SEVEN or EIGHT years later, she is still working for Jake, seriously attracted to him. As far as she knows, Jake doesn't feel anything for her, including attraction.
Jake is attracted to her, BUT, doesn't move forward because he is her boss and thinks it would be inappropriate.
This all comes to a head when she decides that she can no longer pine over Jake, she must move on. She tells Jake she is leaving. You can figure out the rest.
The thing that really irritated me about Anne is her lack of communication skills. From a Marketing major, really? When she pulled that stunt in San Diego, I was done.
I didn't get any real sense of chemistry between the two of them. This was a quick, ok read. I have read other books by this writer that I enjoyed much more. This one was OK.
