One Night Ultimate Werewolf Daybreak has so few rules, everyone will be up and playing in just minutes. Each player is given a single card, which they secretly view, giving them a special power to help the Villager or Werewolf team.
Press a button on the free app, and it walks you through the night phase in minutes. Then you have five minutes to discuss what happened at night, and figure out who the werewolves are! If you find a werewolf, you win. ..but If you don't, they win!

Meet the Good Guys
The Witch may peek at one of the center cards, and then transform any other player into whatever she sees, by swapping that card with theirs. She can even swap her own Witch card if she thinks that will help her.
The Bodyguard saves one player. At the end of the game, when everyone points at the player they think is a werewolf, the Bodyguard points too. ..but whoever he points is saved, regardless of what role it is.
Each game, the Curator gives a mystical artifact to a player. That artifact may cause the player to switch teams, or it may prevent them from talking, or even cause them to turn away from the table for the rest of the game.
Meet the Bad Guys
The Alpha Wolf has the ability to turn any other player into a werewolf. ..without them knowing about it! It's possible to end up with more werewolves than villager in some games, but all the werewolves have to trust each other to win. ..
The Dream Wolf is wayyyyy too tired to be involved in all this werewolf business, so he doesn't wake up and learn who the other werewolves are. They know who he is though, and are working to keep both themselves and their sleepy friend safe.
The Mystic Wolf may look at any other player's card to learn what role they have. She can use this information to convince the player he isn't a werewolf, or possibly to trap that player and make everyone else at the table believe he 'is' a werewolf!
One Night Ultimate Werewolf Daybreak is a fast game for 3-7 players (up to 10 when combined with the original One Night Ultimate Werewolf game) where everyone gets a role: The cunning Alpha Wolf, the powerful Witch, the helpful Apprentice Seer, or others, each with a special ability (no plain "villagers" here!). In the course of a single morning, your village will decide who among them is a werewolf. because all it takes is finding one werewolf to win! Daybreak adds eleven brand new roles to the original One Night Ultimate Werewolf game which can be played with the basic game or on their own. Contents: 11 unique roles on thick, sturdy tiles, 11 role tokens, 6 artifact tokens, 2 shield tokens, a Getting Started guide, and a rulebook with detailed role descriptions.

If you had to choose between this or the original, I'd still choose the original ONUW. While the new roles are fun and offer unique experiences the heart of what makes ONUW fun is easier to find in the first box.
There is an app that you can download and it's pretty funny, makes the game more fun.
For us, we often pull out ONUW as a 'gateway' family game. However, we've pulled it out so often that we needed to change things up. Because we play with so many different circles of friends, they don't even notice that we are changing up the game.
The expansion fits into the original ONUW box. I would have rated it a 5 star if I considered it an essential buy rather than dependent on the game group.
The best part is that you can easily finish a game in 10-15 minutes and start a new one. You almost never know who is a liar or who you are by the end of your turn. I've had many of times where I ended up being a Werewolf without knowing and it was just a lot of fun and laughs.
This is the expansion and requires the full game but I suggest both.
